Hi willi, i run on a linux only box with a vanilla SuSE 9.0 texexec --version TeXExec 3.1 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2002 rpm: te_cont-2.0.2-48 pdftex --version pdfTeX (Web2C 7.4.5) 3.14159-1.10b kpathsea version 3.4.5 Copyright (C) 1997-2003 Han The Thanh. rpm: te_pdf-2.0.2-48 xdvi --version xdvik version 22.40v Copyright (C) 1990-2002 Paul Vojta and others. rpm:tetex-2.0.2-48 hope that helps. The xdvi display is more or less useless because i dont see text inside the boxes. Recommendation for creating, XHTML and PDF versions of single document

Hi, I have been very happy to use ConTeXt and LaTeX to create documents for printed media or onscreen PDF. Currently I am working with some documents that I want to publish in XHTML and PDF (print and screen). What would be the best way to achieve this? - Write in ConTeXt and convert it to XHTML - Write in some XML format like docbook and convert that to XHTML and PDF? I am leaning toward authoring in XML as it is the most flexible, but it is also very verbose and probably requires much more effort in the toolchain to create the output format's I want. Please let me know your experiences and recommendations. Best Regards, Frank

Absolute positioning

Hello, I didn't find a way to put text at specific locations on the page. It must be something obvious! :-) I try to design a screen document where every notes are, say, typeset on the lower half of the page and appear only when clicking on their number in the text (with layers I think). Thnaks in advance, Gilles. PS for Hans: I didn't forget the note problem we've discussed in Mâcon. I'll build a test file.

Hi patrick, just to explain WHY i got confused. I was looking at knuth.tex as a simple example. An *this* example contains no \startX or \stopX . So i got the impression that contex may not need them. And when you see the examples in "typesetting flow charts" no hint either. It would enought to add \starttext \FLOWchart[grid] \stoptext on page 2. page arrangement

Hallo ConTeXt list members, I'd like to arrange A5 landscape pages to A4 in this order ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- | 1 | | 2 | | 5 | | 6 | | 9 | | 10 | ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- | 3 | | 4 | | 7 | | 8 | | 11 | | 12 | ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- for doublesided printing. I'd tried to set \setuparranging[2DOWN] or \setuparranging[2TOP] but it is not desired arrangement. I also experimented with \pusharrangedpage... \poparrangedpages... \handlearrangedpage... macros but I wasn't succsessful. Please, can somebody help me? hi I defined e new head like this: \definehead[class][subject] \setuphead[class][placehead=no] in the text I defined a head as \class{TRANSLATOR\_APPLICATION} in my header I want to have the follwoing output: "Exercise 5 - TRANSLATOR_APPLICATION" i tried \setupheadertexts[Exercise 5 - class] but then the output is: "Exercise 5 - class] how can I get what I want? if I only type \setupheadertexts[class] then the output is "TRANSLATOR_APPLICATION" thx for help severin -- HoHoHo!
