Avoiding ligatures by "| crashes TOC

Hi, I want to avoid wrong ligatures by using "| at the specific points. But this doesn't work with headings, resp.with the table of contents (see error log below). Using \/ instead of "| is no alternativ as it looks too close to ligatures. Does anybody know a workaround for this problem? Thank you, Steffen LOG: ! footnote marker

Hi, while desperately working on footnote markers I found this email from 9 months ago. Is there in the meanwhile some news for a kind of "\setupfootnotemarker"? Floats in Columnsets

It appears as though \placefigure doesn't work very well with columnsets if the size of the floats isn't an exact multiple of the underlying grid. More precisely, \placefigure and friends, when used with any of the *tb and tb* options (tblr, tbrl, lrtb, rltb, fxtb) snap the bottom of the figure to the grid rather than the top. Of course, that means that most of the time figures will not be aligned at the top. (See below for an example.) Does anybody know of a fix or workaround for this problem? Hi to all! I am new to ConTeXt and list and i want to stay for log! I have been rading lang-ita.tex and I see some error. I have post in comp.text.tex and Giuseppe Bilotta has sugest to send a patch to this list. I don't know how can i send the patch (a diff output is enough). What is an intermezzo for? I don't know if the traslation is ok. I'm also interested in adding basque language. Basque is not a romance language, but the typesetting is very similar to spanish. Some differences: 1) Instead of Chpater 1 -- in basque ---> 1 Kapitulua (Chapter) 2) When hypenating a compound word in the hypen, in the next line a hypen is also necesary anai-arrebak is hypendated anai- -arrebak 2) What files have i to change to add support for basque? HI I have been reading lang-ita.tex to see how a language is defined. There are some errors. I have compare the translation with those done by Javier Bezos in spanish for babel ( he has studied spanish typesetting to build the style) line 149 \setupheadtext [\s!es] [\v!tabellen=Tablas] instead of Tablas --> Cuadros line 156 \setupheadtext [\s!es] [\v!figuren=Ilustraci\'ons] ^^^ (liustraciones instead of Ilustraciones --> Figuras line 170 \setupheadtext [\s!es] [\v!intermezzos=intermedios] I don't know what is the propuouse of "intermezzos." Can you explain for what are used? (i can't find it in the manual) line 184 \setupheadtext [\s!es] [\v!afkortingen=Abreviaci\'ons] ^^^Abreviaciones line 198 \setupheadtext [\s!es] [\v!eenheden=Unidads] ^^ Unidades line 205 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!tabel=Tablas ] Here i think is the singular for Tabla, but Javier recomended Cuadro instead of Tablas --> Cuadro line 212 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!figuur=Ilustraci\'on ] instead of Ilustraci\'on --> Figura line 219 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!intermezzo=intermedio ] intermezzo???? line 308 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!january=jenero] jenero --> enero line 316 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!september=septimbre] septimbre --> septiembre line 319 \setuplabeltext [\s!es] [\v!december=deciembre] deciembre --> diciembre This is all (for the moment :-), i've to read what are the meaning of the other things, for quotes and so on.) thanks in advance Zunbeltz

NEWS: pdf output problem

hi list, i have followed the discussion about the strage bug i found. It seems a acroead bug: i have tried with 5.0.6 as exspected i see return 1; while 5.0.8 on my notebook shows "return 0" but not the "return 1" a very strange bug. i will try xpdf today an see what will happen :) thx to all, walter

pdf output problem

Hi list, i found some strange effect with the Chart environment. This is part of a larger flowchart. \startFLOWcell \location {1,6} \name {end-auftrag} \shape {5} \text {DB freigeben ;\\ return 1;\\} \stopFLOWcell $ texexec --output=test --pdf modem.tex The resulting pdf file is missing the 1 from \text {DB freigeben ;\\ return 1;} changing 1 into 0 shows a 0. if i produce a dvi instead it works fine. any ideas ? walter ps: dvi has its own problem by writing the text and then filling the area :)
