Feature request: \digits command

Hi everyone, The \digits command is really great when it comes to typeset numbers in different languages. However, I miss one functionality from the numprint package in latex: when you type for example $e-5$, you get 10^{-5} (with no dot in front of it). Would it be possible to add an option to \digits to reproduce this? Best wishes, Morgan

Overfull boxes using m-cweb

Hello, I am running into overfull boxes when including a weaved cweb file into a context document. The original reference to the cwebmac.tex file (the plain TeX macro) is commented out and replaced by \usemodule[cweb]. The cweb macros appear to expand something into \*11ptmmmt* which seems to have something to do with it. Is there anyone here with experience and deep (Con)TeX(t) knowledge who understands what is happening? compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. Page numbering in Adobe Reader

Hi Hans and Taco, Some guy think it's cool to use romannumeral numbers in the preface and so is in the Adobe Reader. I searched the source but apparently it is not provided. I made a very dirty test file so could you make a switch in the \setupinteraction officially? xetex and attachment: troubles

Dear all, I'm using xetex with fun (as suggested and discussed on the mailing list). I'm revising a previously created document which used attachment command. (the one documented here: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/ Verbatim_text#A_different_approach_to_formatting_and_code_colorization ) The actual version is here: http://www.cirma.unito.it/andrea/sw/sc/prd_tSCIRMA_scr.pdf Now, with ConTeXt no problem. If I use XeConTeXt (--> texexec --xtx) the file is not attached (there's the marker, a link is diplayed, but Acrobat says that there's no attachment). As far as I can say, the problem seems to depend on --xtx switch, Any hints? substitutions

Dear gang, Sometimes I use the following for simple substitutions: \defineactivecharacter ' {\otfchar{quoteright}} But is there a more general mechanism to do things \definesubstitution{<string1>}{<string2>} eg \definesubstitution{--}{–} Of course ConTeXt already provides this particular substitution but I'm interested in such a mechanism for more general purposes. PhD Thesis in ConTeXt

Hello, I have spent some time with google in order to find an answer to the following questions. Unfortunatly, I was not satisfied with the answers, which I now hope to find here. It is my plan not to use the MS Office suite for the production of my PhD thesis (in chemistry). I have used Miktex some years ago during my studies for some project reports, and I remember beeing quite satisfied with the results. My Master thesis, on the other hand, I wrote in word.. and although I remember not having too many difficulties, there were some nasty obstacles to be overcome. Obstacles which I simply do not want to risk having repeated a second time on a much bigger scale. I this mailing list I read several reports of people who either had written their thesis in Latex or ConTeXt. There was a mention of Latex beeing designed for mathematic purposes, while ConTeXt was said to be better suited for the intergration of graphics or larger/more complex layout changes. 1) Finding the right context For now I had quite some difficulties to find that proper Latex distribution - a problem that actually led me to the existence of ConTeXt. I am wondering which latex distribution I should choose in order to work with ConTeXt? I am running Windows Vista (64-bit). Or is there a ConTeXt stand alone package that will absolutely satisfy my me in my needs? In principle, all I need is 2) The right editor What is the preferred editor for ConTeXt? for such a project? Is there any loss in functionality when using Texniccenter with ConTeXt than with MikTex instead? 3) I have seen some thesis templates/examples in this mailinglist. Can anyone point me to additional sources regarding the creation of a PhD Thesis with ConTeXt? What is the advantage over Latex, what are the disadvantages? Is there a win-win distribution somewhere on the table? 4) Has anyone used a typesetting suite like ContTeXt with CVS? 5) Is the ConTeXt reference system compatible with Endnote? Is there any point to have latex installed, when context can do the trick? Or lets ask the devils advocate the other way around: What is the point of installing context, when latex could do the trick? Apart that I have to re-learn latex anyway.. what is better with Context? A few questions about aligned maths

Hi everyone, I read carefully the two 'My Way' from Aditya regarding math alignment (thank you for those, they were extremely useful to me, and should maybe get even more visibility on the wiki), and I have some questions about it: 1) Is there a way to modify interline spacing in 'cases' environment? I find it a bit short when using the displaystyle option. 2) I noticed that the interline spacing is not the same in the 'align' and 'aligned' environment (it's larger in 'align'). Is there a way to make 'aligned' use the spacing of align? It looks better with displaystyle maths. 3) Aditya, I saw your remark in your 'My Way' concerning the 'multline' environment. I must admit I would really be glad to see it appear in ConTeXt! I'm afraid I'm not able to implement it myself... I use it a lot with amsmath: when a formula is just too long for one line, I put it on two with multline. The first part of the formula is left aligned on the first line, and the second part is right aligned on the second line. It seems impossible to get the same result with only 'align'. Would it be difficult to make it available in ConTeXt? Best regards, Morgan
