Overfull boxes using m-cweb

Hello, I am running into overfull boxes when including a weaved cweb file into a context document. The original reference to the cwebmac.tex file (the plain TeX macro) is commented out and replaced by \usemodule[cweb]. The cweb macros appear to expand something into \*11ptmmmt* which seems to have something to do with it. Is there anyone here with experience and deep (Con)TeX(t) knowledge who understands what is happening? compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. In some cases \nolist and \nomarking aren't enough. here are my actual definitions: ---- \def\Untertitel#1{\blank[3pt]{\ss\bf #1}\blank} % ok \def\Titel#1#2{{\nohyphens\chapter{#1}\Untertitel{#2}}} % ok \def\KomplexTitel#1#2#3{{\writetolist[chapter]{#3}\nohyphens\title{#1}\U ntertitel{#2}}} ---- with ---- \start \setupheadertexts[][manual entry][part][] % normally defined as [][chapter][part][] \KomplexTitel{Main chapter title}{chapter subtitle}{toc entry} Much text \stop % of other headertext ---- Real life example: \start \setupheadertexts [][Vorwort][][] \KomplexTitel{Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf}% {Vorwort von Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott}% {Vorwort Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott:\\Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf} ... Hello, I suggested to the author of the very feature rich LaTeX-Listings package, Carsten Heinz, to port this package to ConTeXt, and it seems, that he is interested. But before doing it, there are some questions: * What do Hans and other people thing about that? * listings.sty uses keyval.sty, how is the proper ConTeXt-way to do the same things as keyval, or should listings stay with keyval? broken: noligature AND hyphenation

Hi, just by chance I experienced that there seems to be a problem with ligatures and hyphenation in ConTeXt. Hi, I am not sure how a ConTeXt index register is generated and what role the tui and tuo files play. But could it be possible to manually "fine tune" the generated register? Something like from ... Keywords -- secret 35 -- popular 25, 26, 27, 88, 89 ... to ... Keywords see also Commands -- secret 35 -- popular 25-27, 88-89 ... just by typing the changes in one of those helper files? Steffen

ConTeXt on Debian: The wiki entry

Hi everybody, this mail has a double purpose. At the end, there's a call for testers of a new (planned) Debian ConTeXt package that would be updated more frequently than now (at least in unstable and testing), where ConTeXt is tied to teTeX's or TeXlive's release cycles. But first, I'd like to talk about http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Debian_installation Are some of the people around who wrote this? I found some information in it misleading and in part just wrong (this has already been pointed out two weaks ago by "plink"), and have started to edit the page to change the parts that give us, the Debian TeX maintaines, most headache. But in the lower part, "Steps to finish a first context upgrade", I felt lost. If these steps are really needed, then there's something seriously wrong in Debian's (and probably upstream's) packaging of ConTeXt. Therefore I didn't just change the text to reflect how I think it should work. Instead, we should try to figure out together whether it in fact does not work as it should, and then fix the Debian packages (hopefully still possible for etch). So the specific question I have are: - Is it intended that context formats end up in $TEXMF/web2c/pdfetex/? If yes, why is that so? If not, we should rather find out why it happens and fix it. - Why does it make a difference if the formats are created by fmtutil instead of texexec (Except for the output directory)? Should the upstream packaging be changed so that fmtutil is never used, but texexec, or should fmtutil be fixed to produce the same as texexec? Finally, here comes Norbert Preining's Call for Testers: Dear all! We = Debian TeX maintainers searching for users of the Debian Operating Systems which are also using ConTeXt. Currently Debian etch (testing) and sid (unstable) contains packages for TeX live 2005. But this contains a bit old ConTeXt version, so users are asking us to update ConTeXt. We have prepared a updated ConTeXt package for Debian, based on the latest released version (2006.08.08), and would ask you to help use testing, as we are not experienced in ConTeXt type settings. I checked some simple documents from the ConTeXt Garden, and they worked, but more detailed testing would be nice. If you have interest, please contact us at debian-tex-maint(a)lists.debian.org or, if you have a bit experience, you can straight away add deb http://www.tug.org/texlive/Debian/ context/ to your /etc/apt/sources.list file and install context. Hallo! I wrote a little booklet with \setuppapersize[A5][A5] and \starttext \completecontent\page[right] ... \stoptext All goes right. But if I arrange the pages with \setuppapersize[A5][A4,landscape] \setuparranging[2UP] insteed, the table of content is empty! I got in the log: (e:\context\tex\texmf-local/tex/context/base/pdfr-ec.tex) (./anne2.tuo system : no utility data is loaded and some lines later: system : use a valid utilityfile In the .tui I found c \thisissectionseparator{-} c \thisisutilityversion{2006.09.21} c \thisisbytesequence{ÃEUR} c \utilitygenerationaborted q {quit} My version: ConTeXt ver: 2006.09.26 13:04 MK II fmt: 2006.9.26 int: english/english What I am missing? Hi all, I've installed the latest ConTeXt (+ pdfTeX 3.141592-1.40.0-beta-20061017-2.2 + MetaPost 0.99, the beta one) from scratch on a machine of mine... In order to test this brand new installation, I've processed my phd and experienced some problems: 1- the new enco-ffr contains \installactivecharacter : \installactivecharacter ; \installactivecharacter ? \installactivecharacter ! These \installactivecharacter yield to ! Extra tokens will be flushed. <to be read again> directdiscretionary l.54 } enddef \directdiscretionary {; Ok, the problem is solved if I comment out these lines and the horizontal spacing seems to be correct... 2- I have now the following error: ! Spacing of page numbers in list

Greetings all, I'm having a devil of a time trying to figure out how to control (increase) the space between the name of each part/chapter/section and its page number in a list generated by the following example. I've tried (I believe) every option in the \setuplist grimoire... but obviously I have not! Any clues?
