compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. In some cases \nolist and \nomarking aren't enough. here are my actual definitions: ---- \def\Untertitel#1{\blank[3pt]{\ss\bf #1}\blank} % ok \def\Titel#1#2{{\nohyphens\chapter{#1}\Untertitel{#2}}} % ok \def\KomplexTitel#1#2#3{{\writetolist[chapter]{#3}\nohyphens\title{#1}\U ntertitel{#2}}} ---- with ---- \start \setupheadertexts[][manual entry][part][] % normally defined as [][chapter][part][] \KomplexTitel{Main chapter title}{chapter subtitle}{toc entry} Much text \stop % of other headertext ---- Real life example: \start \setupheadertexts [][Vorwort][][] \KomplexTitel{Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf}% {Vorwort von Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott}% {Vorwort Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott:\\Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf} ... Now there stay two issues: 1. I'd like to get a four-parameter command that can set the header text also. 2. I must get a line feed into the toc, but neither \\ nor \crlf works. Please help! Thanks. startappendices creates an extra empty page

Hi, When is use \startappendices \stopappendices to create appendices, I get an extra empty page. Is there a way to solve this? If I put another chapter after the \stopappendices statement, then there is no empty page. See the following test: \setupoutput[pdftex] \starttext \chapter[]{Chapter} This a chapter \section[]{Section} This a section \startappendices \chapter[]{Appendix} This the appendix \stopappendices % \chapter[]{extra} % This extra \stoptext Any suggestions? m-bib sorting, etc.

Another question on m-bib: Is it possible to get the bib list alphabetized? Or is the only way this can work if the bib file itself is so, and I use the bbl sort option? Also, I am getting some weird vertical spacing in the list (like extra blank space between a couple of entries). Is there any suggested workaround for this? Bruce

Typo in d-en-all.tex

I uncovered an ancient typo. Here is a text fragment from the above document: \ShowSample {001} {A simple document} \ShowSample {002} {Setting up the page} \ShowSample {003} {Using the margin} \ShowSample {004} {Adaptive headers and footers} \ShowSample {004} {Some bookmarks} The 004 file is called twice, and the 005 file is omitted. Sounds like a case for 007 :-) John Culleton

Hi, I want to see active URL in my pdf document in similar way that is used by <a....>....</a> tag in html So I have written \setupinteraction[state=start] then \useexternaldocument [doc:Molik] [http://zskl.zsk.p.lodz.pl/~morawski/local/Praca dyplomowa p. Molika.pdf] [Metody routingu unikastowego] then I try to use \from, \goto; \url and even if I see the link, it is not active then I try: \useURL [Molik] [http://zskl.zsk.p.lodz.pl/~morawski/local/Praca dyplomowa p. Molika.pdf] and \from, \goto; \url result is less or more the same. Where is the problem? What I have missed in documentation? Michal Morawski

Strange error while generating format

Hello, all-- I am trying to set up a new version of ConTeXt (the latest stable version, I guess? I downloaded it from Pragma ADE yesterday). But when I run 'texexec --make en' I get the following error: (/usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/page-imp.tex loading : Context Core Macros / Pagebody Building system (E-TEX) : [line 736] \dimexpr ! Undefined control sequence. l.743 \setuppaper ? I say this is strange because I'm sure \setuppaper is defined--and if it weren't, surely it would have been noticed and corrected by now. I think all ConTeXt files are in their proper places ... at least, they are in the same places they were in a previous working installation. Some pertinent facts: TeX distribution: teTeX 1.0.2 Major addons: pTeX 2.0 (but as far as I know this doesn't replace core files) Platform: Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 Maybe the files are getting loaded in the wrong order? But I can't think of any reason why that might happen. Or have I missed some important step? incrementnumber of part vs. not showing up in table of contents

Hi, When i \setuphead[part][incrementnumber=no] so that all the chapter numbering will be continuous, the part doesn't show up in my Table of Contents. when i change it to 'yes' or remove incrementnumber, the part shows up in the ToC, but the chapters are now reset to 1 at each part break. I want to have the parts show up in the ToC, but not have chapter numbers reset to 1 at each part. %%%%%%%%sample, change incrementnumber=yes | no \setuphead[part] [incrementnumber=no] \setuphead [chapter] [number=yes] \placecontent \starttext \part{one} \chapter{c1} \input tufte \chapter{c2} \input tufte \part{two} \chapter{c3} \input tufte \stoptext %%%%%%%end test thanks, mark ps - is there a difference for this list between using \input tufte and \input knuth?

small font size for figure captions

Hi. I am having trouble finding how to get a smaller font size for the text like, "Figure 1.1 Dinosaurs are Fun". I can change the font size for "Dinosaurs are Fun" manually, but then "Figure 1.1" stays big, which looks funny.
