Undefined control sequence: \pdfpxdimen

The drops module uses the primitive \pdfpxdimen in a couple of places, but that is no longer defined in the current beta. What is the equivalent command now? Examples of usage: \pdfpxdimen1in\relax\divide\pdfpxdimen\numexpr\dropsparameter\c! resolution\relax % set actual pixel dimension Aditya

Outputting custom types in MKiv bibliography

Hello, I’m trying to create my first publication using ConTeXt mkiv. All going well except for the bibliography formatting. Previously I have used LaTeX, standard entry types in BibTeX, and custom output formats using Biblatex. My publication cites lots of historical sources, viz.: (1) Newspaper articles — currently stored as ‘article’ types in BibTex. (2) Archival sources (historic letter, some leather-bound volume, a catalogued box of old photographs, etc.) — currently stored as ‘unpublished’ or ‘misc'. I would prefer to store these (in BibTeX, buffer, lua, or xml) as custom types (eg. ‘newspaper’, ‘archivalItem’), create setups for how they are output and which fields I output. I found a ’newspaper’ type (and other non-BibTeX types) defined in publ-imp-apa.mkiv as: \startsetups btx:apa:list:newspaper \fastsetup{btx:apa:list:article} \stopsetups I hoped this would mean I could output something: Boxing. (1903, September 13). The Sunday Times, p.8 However, if I create an item of type 'newspaper’ and \cite it I get an output of all stored fields: newspaper: [day: 13] [journal: {The Sunday Times}] [month: 09] [pages:8][title: {Boxing.}] [type: newspaper article] [year: 1903] A similar thing happens if I try to cite the standard BibTeX type ‘misc’. If I store the newspaper item as type ‘article’ I get: “Boxing.”, The Sunday Times, 8, 1903. (missing day and month) Is it relevant that there is a problem when I include \showbtxfields[rotation=30] in my document? The resulting table has ‘*’ for fields in ‘article’, ‘book’, ‘demo-a’, ‘demo-b’ but the columns for ‘newspaper’ and ‘misc’ are empty. Any pointers gratefully received. Cheers, Mike O’Connor P.S. Luatex 1.08.0 announcement

============================================================== LuaTeX 1.08 2018-08-28 ============================================================== (1) This release is a prelude to 1.10, the next stable iteration of LuaTeX after version 1.00. (2) Lua 5.3 is now considered to be default and we might use 5.4 in version 1.10. There are no real functional changed expected. You still need to rename the binary for 5.3! (3) Binary mode is no longer available in MPlib but it is still available in stand alone MetaPost. This simplifies compilation and reduces dependencies. (4) The dependency on Poppler for pdf image inclusion has been removed. We now use a small dedicated library written by Pawel Jakowski. We no longer need c++ compilers. We're in the process of making it behave well on all platforms. It has been tested on intel platforms. (5) We know that there can be some (alignment) issues with the arm platform but these are looked into. Therefore, later this year we will release 1.09. Version 1.10 is planned for TeXlive. We hope that ffi works ok on intel and arm platforms at that point. (6) There have been some extensions to the Lua libraries and some callbacks have been added. Also, a few new primitives have been introduced. The documentation mentions the stable extensions. (7) There are the usual bug fixes and cleanups but there have been no real fundamental changes in the API. The LuaTeX team

Old version of luatex for alpine linux (musl)

Hi all, I want to use the last beta version of standalone ConTeXt distribution in alpine linux (musl). How to configure context command in Emacs

Hello, I hope there are some Emacs users out there. ;-) I can use emacs with context-mode when I start the program like this: . ~/context/tex/setuptex ; emacs & I could not find a way to set this in my emacs init file. Neither of the ways described here worked for me: https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/ExecPath I set this in .bashrc: if [-f ~/context/tex/setuptex ]; then . ~/context/tex/setuptex fi to always have context available in a shell and in emacs if I start it from bash. Starting Emacs via the start menu of Gnome results in an Emacs that does not know ConTeXt. I found some hints how to source .bashrc in emacs but this only affects the emacs shell not the command calling from within AucTeX. Has anyone found a solution for this? juh

Problem with grid alignment and paragraph

Dear list, I am facing a problem with grid alignment when using paragraphs. I think it could be a bug because the MWE below produces lines which are correctly aligned to the grid with the context version included in texlive 2017, but it does not seem to work with the context in texlive 2018 and the current beta (ConTeXt ver: 2018.12.07 19:37 MKIV beta fmt: 2018.12.14). This is the MWE: \setuplayout[grid=yes] \defineparagraphs[twocols][n=2] \showgrid \starttext \starttwocols \input knuth \nexttwocols \input knuth \stoptwocols \stoptext Am I doing anything wrong? double followtokens?

Dear list, I have the following sample: \useMPlibrary[txt] \starttext \startuseMPgraphic{followtokens} path RotPath ; RotPath := reverse halfcircle ; % path RotPath ; RotPath := halfcircle rotatedaround (origin, 180) ; \stopuseMPgraphic \followtokens{Just follow the tokens} \stoptext How can I get both paths (in diverse directions)? I would like to repeat the same text twice, separating both sentences with a character. I have to ask this, beause MetaPost is all Greek to me. Issue with missing kerns when using fallback family (or KeterYG font)

Dear list, Given the Following MWE, I notice that with latest beta (does not seem to happen before) kerns are not applied in paragraph in which there are some hebrew letters. This only affects text after that hebrew letters up to end of paragraph. I use 2 fonts in sample : EBGaramond and KeterYG (can be found in various places).
