compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. In some cases \nolist and \nomarking aren't enough. here are my actual definitions: ---- \def\Untertitel#1{\blank[3pt]{\ss\bf #1}\blank} % ok \def\Titel#1#2{{\nohyphens\chapter{#1}\Untertitel{#2}}} % ok \def\KomplexTitel#1#2#3{{\writetolist[chapter]{#3}\nohyphens\title{#1}\U ntertitel{#2}}} ---- with ---- \start \setupheadertexts[][manual entry][part][] % normally defined as [][chapter][part][] \KomplexTitel{Main chapter title}{chapter subtitle}{toc entry} Much text \stop % of other headertext ---- Real life example: \start \setupheadertexts [][Vorwort][][] \KomplexTitel{Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf}% {Vorwort von Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott}% {Vorwort Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott:\\Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf} ... Now there stay two issues: 1. I'd like to get a four-parameter command that can set the header text also. 2. I must get a line feed into the toc, but neither \\ nor \crlf works. Please help! Thanks. startappendices creates an extra empty page

Hi, When is use \startappendices \stopappendices to create appendices, I get an extra empty page. Is there a way to solve this? If I put another chapter after the \stopappendices statement, then there is no empty page. See the following test: \setupoutput[pdftex] \starttext \chapter[]{Chapter} This a chapter \section[]{Section} This a section \startappendices \chapter[]{Appendix} This the appendix \stopappendices % \chapter[]{extra} % This extra \stoptext Any suggestions? m-bib sorting, etc.

Another question on m-bib: Is it possible to get the bib list alphabetized? Or is the only way this can work if the bib file itself is so, and I use the bbl sort option? Also, I am getting some weird vertical spacing in the list (like extra blank space between a couple of entries). Is there any suggested workaround for this? Bruce

differences of table modes

Ahoi! I just reviewed my german ConTeXt tutorial and tried to tell the truth about all the table modes. Please correct me if I'm wrong: * tabulate - can break over several pages - [start|stop]tabulate[head|tail] should define a repeated head/tail, but it doesn't work - documented in the manual (cont-en[i|p]) * table - cannot break - based on Wichura's TaBlE (others not) - can be used as float (others not?) - documentation commercial at pctex.com (39 $), partly docs in "ConTeXt - an excursion" (m[s|p]-cb-en) * tables - same as table, but can break over several pages - [start|stop]table[head|tail] works - nowhere documented? * TABLE - didn't try page breaks yet; should it work? - [b|e]TABLE works; should [start|stop]TABLE also? - docs: up-to-date 8 (no link on HP!), enattab * new table mode? Typo in d-en-all.tex

I uncovered an ancient typo. Here is a text fragment from the above document: \ShowSample {001} {A simple document} \ShowSample {002} {Setting up the page} \ShowSample {003} {Using the margin} \ShowSample {004} {Adaptive headers and footers} \ShowSample {004} {Some bookmarks} The 004 file is called twice, and the 005 file is omitted. Sounds like a case for 007 :-) John Culleton

Runtime graphics

Hi, I run this simple test file test.tex : %&cont-en \setupoutput[pdftex] \runMPgraphicstrue \starttext \startMPrun input graphserieA \stopMPrun \externalfigure[mprun.1] \externalfigure[mprun.2] % \startMPrun input graphserieB \stopMPrun \externalfigure[mprun.1] \externalfigure[mprun.2] \stoptext \end . In the logfile, I got the messages : figures : figureobject test-mprun.1 is reused figures : figureobject test-mprun.2 is reused and twice the figures of graphserieA.mp on test.pdf. Is there a way to avoid the re-use of test-mprun.1 and test-mprun.2, I mean a way to overwrite the files test-mprun.1 and test-mprun.2 ? Or a way to get different names for each metapost output as, for example, graphserieA-mprun.1, graphserieA-mprun.2 and graphserieB-mprun.1, graphserieB-mprun.2 ? I could also give a different number to each of the figures in all of the *.mp files, but this solution is not pacticable since I have plenty of metapost files to process, each of it containing a lot of figures already numbered with almost the same numbers. Moreover, those numbers can not be modified because the figures are elsewhere referenced by their number and by the name of the metapost file. Thanks, --pv

Dear Hans, I need Your help... I would like to typeset bibliography of our University staff using CONTEXT. On this web site is actual version of this bibliography, which I had typeset with the use of pdf-tex, with my hand-made macros...: http://regent2.uci.agh.edu.pl/bpp/pdf/bppagh.pdf I found your file maps.pdf, it looks excellent!!! This is transcendent example!!! I had read pre-maps.pdf, but it is not enough for me to learn CONTEXT, unfortunately... I have a problems with references, links, interactive menus... If it is possible, please send me excerpt of maps.pdf sources... only for educational purposes... Then I hope I will better understand CONTEXT idea. Best regards! --jk PS. layers and XML

Hello, I am having trouble with popping XML elements onto a new layer. Preferably I would like to use elements "datowanie","datowanie-projektu" and "architekci" inside \framed which would be inside \setlayer. <info-w-ramce> <datowanie>1927--38</datowanie> <datowanie-projektu>1926</datowanie-projektu> <pelny-adres>Aleje Jerozolimskie 3, Warszawa</pelny-adres> <architekci>Architects: Tadeusz Tolwinski, E. Wrap-around.

Context will place figures right or left. However Context will not AFAIK fit text to an irregular illustration, or around an arc etc. TheTeXbook describes a very tedious command: \parshape (p101) which could allow one to fit the lines to an illustration, arc etc. by hand.
