Feature request: \digits command

Hi everyone, The \digits command is really great when it comes to typeset numbers in different languages. However, I miss one functionality from the numprint package in latex: when you type for example $e-5$, you get 10^{-5} (with no dot in front of it). Would it be possible to add an option to \digits to reproduce this? Best wishes, Morgan

Overfull boxes using m-cweb

Hello, I am running into overfull boxes when including a weaved cweb file into a context document. The original reference to the cwebmac.tex file (the plain TeX macro) is commented out and replaced by \usemodule[cweb]. The cweb macros appear to expand something into \*11ptmmmt* which seems to have something to do with it. Is there anyone here with experience and deep (Con)TeX(t) knowledge who understands what is happening? compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. xetex and attachment: troubles

Dear all, I'm using xetex with fun (as suggested and discussed on the mailing list). I'm revising a previously created document which used attachment command. (the one documented here: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/ Verbatim_text#A_different_approach_to_formatting_and_code_colorization ) The actual version is here: http://www.cirma.unito.it/andrea/sw/sc/prd_tSCIRMA_scr.pdf Now, with ConTeXt no problem. If I use XeConTeXt (--> texexec --xtx) the file is not attached (there's the marker, a link is diplayed, but Acrobat says that there's no attachment). As far as I can say, the problem seems to depend on --xtx switch, Any hints? A few questions about aligned maths

Hi everyone, I read carefully the two 'My Way' from Aditya regarding math alignment (thank you for those, they were extremely useful to me, and should maybe get even more visibility on the wiki), and I have some questions about it: 1) Is there a way to modify interline spacing in 'cases' environment? I find it a bit short when using the displaystyle option. 2) I noticed that the interline spacing is not the same in the 'align' and 'aligned' environment (it's larger in 'align'). Is there a way to make 'aligned' use the spacing of align? It looks better with displaystyle maths. 3) Aditya, I saw your remark in your 'My Way' concerning the 'multline' environment. I must admit I would really be glad to see it appear in ConTeXt! I'm afraid I'm not able to implement it myself... I use it a lot with amsmath: when a formula is just too long for one line, I put it on two with multline. The first part of the formula is left aligned on the first line, and the second part is right aligned on the second line. It seems impossible to get the same result with only 'align'. Would it be difficult to make it available in ConTeXt? Best regards, Morgan

Bib module and prefix=+

Hi, How can the bib module and \setuphead[chapter][prefix=+] be made to coexist? The following example works, but if you uncomment the \setuphead, the citations are broken and the reference list vanishes: \setupoutput[pdftex] % uncomment this line and it breaks %\setuphead[chapter][prefix=+] \usemodule[bib] \usemodule[bibltx] \setupbibtex[database={xampl.bib}] \setuppublications[refcommand=num] % makes no real difference %\setuppublicationlist[title=\chapter] \version[temporary] \starttext \chapter[chapt]{A Chapter} Some citations: \cite[article-full] \cite[inbook-full] \cite[manual- full]. Experience on writing a thesis with MKIV

Hi everyone, I finished my thesis, writing both my thesis and my presentation using ConTeXt. I am summarizing my experience here. Hopefully, others will find it useful. * Layout and Formatting: It was extremely simple to set up the layout and formatting according to the thesis specifications. Due to the ease of changing formatting, I experimented quite a bit with the formatting before settling down to what is in the thesis (The school wanted "nothing fancy"). * Organizing large projects: The product-component structure made it easy to work on single chapters. However, I could not get correct numbering for the components (If I compiled chapter-02, it got numbered 1). In the end, I was just compiling the whole thesis at the time, since it was pretty fast (~10 sec). * Fonts: Using different fonts with MKIV was really easy. For the presentation, I did have some trouble in getting Euler to work with the minimals. Hopefully, this will be corrected soon. * Math: The math alignments worked very nicely, but I had to do a lot of manual tweaking at a lot of places. Also, equations seem to like to have a tendency of starting on a new page. I tried changing penalties for predisplay and postdisplay (which are set to zero), but it invariably led to bad page breaks at other places. At some places, the equation overlapped with the previous material. I am not sure what was causing this (medium interline spacing, wrong calculation of the width of the previous line, or something else). In the end, I simply put a few manual \break[small] here and there. Being able to write unicode math made simplified reading math markup. * Metapost: TeX-MP interaction is fast and easy. However, debugging metapost errors is difficult because context does not stop compiling on encountering a metapost error. * Bibliography. For a large part, the bib module was very easy. In the end, there were a few glitches with the formatting of the bibliography (too title space between entries) which I had to manually correct. (Look for \help inside the bbl file). The bbl file sorted authors with multiple entries incorrectly. If I had authors with four publications in a year, say 2000, the came out as 2000d, 2000c, 2000b, 2000a. I wanted 2000a, 2000b, 2000c, and 2000d, so in the end I just edited the bbl file by hand. There was also problem with maybe year. If I had 2000a and 2000b in the bib file, but only referred to 2000b in the thesis, the year came out as 2000b rather than 2000. For this also, I edited the bbl file by hand. Overall, ConTeXt made writing the thesis fairly easy. I mean the typesetting part of it. For those who are wondering, ConTeXt does not help with the content of the thesis :-) I would like to thank Hans and Taco for providing ConTeXt and everyone on the mailing list for answering my various questions.
