page arrangement

Hallo ConTeXt list members, I'd like to arrange A5 landscape pages to A4 in this order ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- | 1 | | 2 | | 5 | | 6 | | 9 | | 10 | ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- | 3 | | 4 | | 7 | | 8 | | 11 | | 12 | ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- for doublesided printing. I'd tried to set \setuparranging[2DOWN] or \setuparranging[2TOP] but it is not desired arrangement. I also experimented with \pusharrangedpage... \poparrangedpages... \handlearrangedpage... macros but I wasn't succsessful. Please, can somebody help me? Perl scripts almost unusable under Win32 MiKTeX

Recent ConTeXt updates have rendered some Perl scripts (texshow.pl & modules) unusable under MiKTeX because they heavily rely on web2c methods to find binaries and complementary files. -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

m-BibTeX problems

Hi, I have some strange bibTeX problems. a) I try to show DOI references in the publication list, therefore I created the macro \gotoDOI{} and modified \setuppublicationlayout[article]. As long as I don't use \setupinteraction[state=start], the DOI is hyphenated. Using \setupinteraction[state=start], the DOI is no longer hyphenated. Calling \gotoDOI directly, works (both cases), but with interaction enabled the DOI is printed in bold and with wide spacing after the possible line break points ("10. 1103" instead of "10.1103"). See attached files. Run them (with m-bib installed) as: texexec --once --pdf test; bibtex test; texexec --pdf test b) I'd like to see that I can click on the number in [4] and jump to the entry in the publicationlist: It is much more fun to read an article, thesis, etc. when one can click on the reference instead of searching for the reference list (going back is less important; after all, 'Go to previous view' exists). c) Someone should write a texutil plugin which automatically runs bibtex if necessary. I tend to forget this. (I will look into this as soon as I have time, i.e. probably in March.) Tobias

Als ik aan de dos-prompt typ: texexec voorbeeld dan krijg ik de foutmelding "texexec wordt niet herkend als een interne of externe opdracht, programma of batchbestand" met texexec.pl voorbeeld lukt het wel. Ik ben overigens een absolute beginner in context. Ik vind op het net echter nergens een echte beginnershandleiding die alles van naaldje tot draadje uitlegt. Install again

I installed a fresh TeX installation form the TeXLive installation disk. I did the usual things, like convert Texexec.rme to texexec.ini, move texexec.pl to /usr/TeX/bin/ i386-linux/texexec, run fmtutil and texexex -make --all en nl metafun and the rest. I ran fmtutil --all and texhash. Bottom line programs that compile clean and operate properly under my old installation (still available) don't do so under the new installation. For example the sample program d-en-all will compile without errors but the interaction is kaput and nothing shows up in the TOC. The exact same files in the exact same directory will however work when I boot up my old partition. \chapter{$D$} and D being not italic

Hello, is this my strange setup or is this a general problem? If I TeX this \subsection{Derivation of $n_\sigma$ and $D_\sigma$} \bye both n and D are \rm instead of italic. I know that it worked once. Tobias

new tex toy

Hi, One of the problems with the texmf tree is to get the right scripts/documents launched. On linux, runperl/runruby are used for that, on windows there was runperl.exe which is now irun.exe. Those scripts/apps work ok under most circumstances but not all (especially not when one has multiple trees and multiple instances of the tools). So ... a few weeks ago I made a small tool: http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/texmfstart.rb : for those who have ruby in their path http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/texmfstart.exe : for those who don't have ruby installed and are on windows http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/mtexmfstart.pdf : for those who are interested This tool permits things like (on windows): "texmfstart --browser examplap.pdf" but also calls like: "texmfstart texexec.pl optional arguments" and alike. Several search strategies are applied (see manual). The few of you who have seen the integrated context environment (around scite) already may have used this tool indirectly. I didn't yet test this new gimmick on linux but will do that asap. The next thing that will be posted is 'texsync' which will synchronize your local minimal tex and/or context tree (or part of it, or (part) of the documentation) with the current distribution. (i'm playing with that right now).
