Feature request: \digits command

Hi everyone, The \digits command is really great when it comes to typeset numbers in different languages. However, I miss one functionality from the numprint package in latex: when you type for example $e-5$, you get 10^{-5} (with no dot in front of it). Would it be possible to add an option to \digits to reproduce this? Best wishes, Morgan

It is a hard job to understand how all works ... I tried to create the first example of the documentation "Page 257 Anchors and layers", but failed with mkii and iv. The page is created, but without the graphical elements. Not using \startbuffer--\stopbuffer makes no difference. MTXrun | current version: 2010.07.30 11:35 Herbert \starttext \section {Anchors and layers} \startbuffer[a] \setMPpositiongraphic{X-1}{mypos:arrow}{to=X-2} \setMPpositiongraphic{X-2}{mypos:arrow}{to=X-3} \stopbuffer \startbuffer[b] In a previous section we saw that some \hpos {X-1} {words} were \hpos {X-2} {circled} and connected by an \hpos {X-3} {arrow}. As with most things in \CONTEXT, marking these words is separated from declaring what to do with those words. This paragraph is keyed in as: \stopbuffer \getbuffer[a,b] \stoptext

Setting expansion depth limit for metapost

I'm preparing quite long presentation -- nearly 3000 sides, 900 figures (500 distinct PNG files). I'm using ConTeXt MkIV installed using minimals (2010.03.12 19:49). Recently I'm hitting MetaPost capacity limit on expansion depth: !mplib : mp terminal: ! MetaPost capacity exceeded, sorry [expansion depth=10000]. Increasing expand_depth in texmf.cnf and regenerating formats with context --make doesn't help. expansion depth is still at 10000 in error message. texmf.cnf in texmf-local I've changed is reported by context as first one in log line starting with "mkiv lua stats : used config path" What am I missing? Overfull boxes using m-cweb

Hello, I am running into overfull boxes when including a weaved cweb file into a context document. The original reference to the cwebmac.tex file (the plain TeX macro) is commented out and replaced by \usemodule[cweb]. The cweb macros appear to expand something into \*11ptmmmt* which seems to have something to do with it. Is there anyone here with experience and deep (Con)TeX(t) knowledge who understands what is happening? Q about hangaround commands

Hi. I'm trying to figure out the limitation of \start/stophangaround commands. 1. Is it correct that currently the figure could be placed only on left? If so is it easy to extend the command to allow placing figure at right side? 2. Is there way to increase/decrease the space between the text and image? 3. Is it correct that hangaround command is tricky hack that change normal flow? I prepare simple example (it is attached). 1) is obvious from the example (default behavior I assume). 3): I got the '2.' not on left side as 1) and 3) but on left side of text block right after image. Another example if 3): if I put empty line between \starthangaround and \input (see the file) then there would be mess. P.S. I tried the example with MkIV only. --- WBR, Vladimir Lomov

Textbackgrounds

Hi all, I've played with text backgrounds. Please have a look at the following example. \definetextbackground [test] [location=paragraph, % frame=off, % -> no round corners anymore corner=round, % -> corner=1|2|3… would be nice leftoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, rightoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, topoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, bottomoffset=.5\bodyfontsize] \setuphead [subject] [after=, command=\MyHead] \def\MyHead#1#2% {\framed [background=color, backgroundcolor=gray, frame=off, offset=.5\bodyfontsize, corner=3]{#1#2}} \starttext \subject{Test} \starttest \input tufte \stoptest \stoptext There is a nasty little space between the two backgrounds. How can I avoid it? Further the left borders of the frame are not aligned. I appreciate your help. Andreas

Hi, I there a command to "jump" to a specific pdf page? Like \goto,\at, \in, \about ... only, in this case a page number should be given! Any ideas? Thanks, Steffen

Hello, I'm working on a project to set up exams, basing the work on Aditya's asignment class that was published in Practex in 2006. I have a problem getting title information printed correctly. background over two page

Hi all, I'm using context MkII. My code is \setupcolors[state=start] \setupbackground [bottomframe=on, rulethickness=1pt, rightframe=on, leftframe=on] \starttext Good: \startbackground \input knuth \stopbackground Not good: \startbackground \input knuth \input knuth \input knuth \stopbackground \stoptext The second backgrounded text is on two pages.
