Status of Asymptote

Dear all, I'd like to know what is the status of Asymptote in Context. To my knowledge, metapost/metafun only support 2D (except with the additional libraries from Roegel, which would have to be cleaned up a bit). Otherwise, what shall be used for 3D drawings in Context? TikZ? Something else? Thanks in advance. Alex

Firefox doesn't show the "yes", nor Acrobat X, but SumatraPDF does. I modified your definition as: \definefield[test][check][cbox][][] And now the "yes" doesn't appear. Convertnumber with \ref[number] fails in MkIV, works in LMTX

Hello list, The following fails with ConTeXt ver: 2021.10.24 21:45 MKIV but works with the companion LMTX. The error message is:tex error > tex error on line 6 in file G:/TestConTeXt/convert.tex: ! Incompatible glue units , pointing to the second \convertnumber line. \definelabel[XX]%[text=,before=,after=,alternative=inright] \startTEXpage[offset=2em] abc\XX[xx]\par \ref[number][xx] · \convertnumber{r}{1} · \convertnumber{R}{\ref[number][xx]} \stopTEXpage In this case I am trying to display with roman numerals the number generated in the label created through \definelabel. TeXGyre Heros on Firefox

Dear all, there were some discussions on pdf viewers on the list and I know that things are not always fine. I now have a problems with the Firefox pdf viewer and TeX Gyre Heros. The font looks uneven in FF, no problems elsewhere. When I scroll into the pdf to set the display to 150% or more the font shows up just fine. So it seems to be a display problems with firefox. I tried several pdf versions no change. My configuration: \definefontfamily[mainfont][serif][texgyreheros] \definefontfamily[mainfont][sans] [textgyreheros] \definefontfamily[mainfont][mono] [texgyrecursor][features=none] \definefontfamily[mainfont][math] [texgyrepagellamath] \definefallbackfamily [mainfont] [rm] [Latin Modern Math] [scale=0.925, range=0x22C0] \definefontfeature[smallcaps][script=latn, protrusion=quality, expansion=quality, smcp=yes, onum=yes, pnum=yes] \setupalign[hz,hanging] \setupitaliccorrection[global, always] Is there anything I can do? And the is another issue: To my big surprise ArialBold MT is included into the file. I am using the current lmtx. Count (and limit) glyphs per line?

Dear list, I've been confronted with the following 'intriguing' formatting requirement for a document: " • Type density: Must be no more than 15 characters per linear inch (including characters and spaces). • Line spacing: Must be no more than six lines per vertical inch. " While the line spacing resolves in ConTeXt to \setupinterlinespace[line=\dimexpr(1in / 6)] I was wondering if one can limit "type density" as the number of glyphs per inch in TeX too? I thought, it is more convenient to rephrase this request (for a 7 in textwidth) to limit the number of glyphs per line to 112. (Font must be sans or serif, of course ...) I've tried \setuplayout[width=112\averagecharwidth] which, however, results in ~120–130 characters and spaces per line. Pragmatically, I'm narrowing the text width to empirically match the requirement, but I'm nevertheless curious if there is a Lua/TeX solution to this "problem"? Thank you! Benjamin

I've been using context thanks to these installation steps on win 7 and win 10. I'm not sure what the targetgroup at the conference is, but if the people there ever used a commandline, they should be good to go. once you install, you open the commandline using Win+R and then type "cmd". Once in the cmd, you only need to know the command "cd" (change directory) to navigate to the folder where the .tex source is, so e.g. "cd c:\users\x\documents\" and then run "context test.tex". That is the manual way. I use sublimetext as text editor and made a new build for it, that when I press Ctrl+B saves all changes in the open file/folder and runs context on the open file and previews the pdf in mupdf that is zoomed to be 1:1 paper:print on my dpi. It's a bit like TeXworks, just press button and see the pdf, because mupdf automatically overwrites the open pdf without asking. It's 4 hours by train for me to Bonn and I'm not sure whether I'm a good candidate to teach people context due to my low skill, but I can surely teach you how to install lmtx on windows if you like (we could call or sth). Tagging corrupts URLs in bibliographies

Enabling PDF tagging corrupts the URLs displayed in bibliographies. MWE: \setuptagging[state=start] \usebtxdataset[mkiv-publications.bib] \usebtxdefinitions[apa] % \usebtxdefinitions[chicago] \starttext \nocite[article, advancedonline] \placelistofpublications \stoptext I think that APA and Chicago are the only styles that display URLs in the bibliography, but there may be others that I'm missing.
