Math symbols like \reals atomic?

Hi all, simple question ... hopefully simple answer ;-) Why can't I use \math{\langle v_i, v_j \rangle_\complexes} but have to enclose the command \complexes in curly brackets? Shouldn't these set symbols be atomic? Oliver, puzzled.

I've sort of looked around, I believe, but not found a simple way to change the size of headings. \setuphead[subject][style=\ss\bfb] makes a nice medium sized heading, but what is the canonical way to set up numbered headings, sans serif, boldface, 14pt? -- Rolf Lindgren roffe(a)extern.uio.no

After switching from the august2006 version of ConTeXt to 18-1-2007 suddenly an error crept up in a text not giving this before. The error was triggered by: \switchtobodyfont[24pt] and the culprit turned out to be the following statement in one of my own type files: \starttypescript [all] [lucidayy] [size] \definebodyfont [4pt,5pt,6pt,7pt,8pt,9pt,10pt,11pt,12pt,14.4pt,17.3pt] [rm,ss,tt,tts,cg,hw,fx,mm] [default] \stoptypescript There the 24pt had to be added: ...,17.3pt,24pt] My point is the phrasing of the error message: ! Math formula deleted: Insufficient symbol fonts. \dontleavehmode ...point \everymath \emptytoks $ $ }\unhbox \@@dlhbox \fi \fi \dodowithnextbox ->\noindentation \dontleavehmode \hbox to \localhsize {\ifc... l.6 \midaligned{\tfa\bf PRACTICUMBOEK CRYPTOGRAFIE} That is somewhat misleading, if I may permit myself an understatement. In the source of the midaligned there is not a math formula in sight. Now I know enough TeX to see the relevance of the two $'s further in the error message. But my point is that the text seems to point in the direction of missing (math) fonts, whereas it is just a missing fontsize. I have two questions: 1. Is it advisible (if possible at all) to make the message text more specific and directly understandable by newcomers: one may suppose they will not easily find the connection of \switchtobodyfont [something-big] to a missing size in the typescript. 2. I am curious why this error message only now pops up, whereas previously the typesetting proceeded without a hitch. Is this caused by more stringent testing in the ConTeXt code or is it just a default behaviour that is no longer valid? Hans van der Meer

Para and Section marks oversize in 2007-01-23

\starttext \P ~I Have to go back to version 2007-01-12 because\crlf \P ~these enormous paragraph and section marks make\crlf \S ~context 2007-01-23 useless for me. Greetings! How would you make right delimiter } bigger then $\Biggr\}$ to join several lines in table? Hi, Thanks for the replies. You confirmed what I suspected -- that by default there are no auto page-breaks after most sections. I have no idea how I got into this mess but I think I'll start over with a fresh setup. I guess, it's all part of the learning process. Figures protruding into the margin in double-sided document

I am composing a double-sided document with wide outer margins to allow space for figures. One type of figure is in-line with the text and protrudes into the wide margin. This is easy to do on left-hand pages by saying \setupfloats[location=right] and on right-hand pages by saying \setupfloats[location=left]. Is there any way to automate this so that inserting a new page does not mean I have to fix all the figures? I tried using a macro along the lines of \ifoff\pageno\\setupfloats[location=right]\else\\setupfloats[location=left]\fi but the asynchronousness of output routines means that the page number is usually wrong. Any help much appreciated. Tim
