How do I get a keyboard style tilde? As in: ~sjansen The tilde character is roughly aligned with the middle horizontal part of the s. \~ and \lettertilde produce a tilde that has been raised so that it can be used as an accent. horoffset + itemize + positiongraphics = misaligned graphics

I'm working on a rather complex document containing frequent use of positional graphics. Unfortunately, I've discovered what I expect will be a pretty nasty problem to fix. When I combine horoffset, startitemize, & positiongraphics the graphics are placed in the wrong spot. how to number poetry?

What is the best way to number lines of poetry? 1 This is the first line This is the second line ... 5 this is the fifth ... 10 this is the tenth. I can supply the number myself. I really don't want the numbers in the margin. Instead, I want the whole poem indented right, with the numbers left of the indent. I have tried using tabulate, but tabulate doesn't let me control the space between "lines," or really cells. Hi, I'm trying to make texexec more miktex aware and run into a problem >pdfetex --alias=context -initialize *cont-en ! I can't read TEX.POOL. does anyone know what is wrong here? In the same range, the vit Zyka font demo catalog (http://typokvitek.com/stormcontext/) push hard the limit of those transparent overlays that I'm still in quest to reproduce. RFE: Better error messages for \usemodule

Just now, I was trying to figure out how to write a module that ConTeXt would load. Should be simple, right? I wrote a file called "t-mymodule.tex", put it in a directory next to a test file that had the line "\usemodule[mymodule]", and tried processing it. After scratching my head over "no macros found in module mymodule", I decided to try replacing the line with "\input{t-mymodule}". This produced the very cryptic result of a "I can't find the file 't-mymodule'. Please type another filename:" error. However, simply using "t-mymodule" as a replacement filename worked fine. Eventually, after much consternation, I tracked the problem down to the fact that ConTeXt truncates input file names to 8 letters. Thus, my \usemodule command was looking for files called "t-mymodu" and so forth. Given the amount of trouble that I had with figuring that out, I'd like to suggest the following enhancement: can the "no modules found in..." and "I can't find the file..." errors be adjusted so that they give the shortened file name that ConTeXt is actually looking for, rather than the long file name? I would also tend to suggest that "no macros found in module..." is a fairly misleading error message anyway, since it seems to imply that the module file itself was found. It is particularly unclear given that it _doesn't_ show up if the module file exists but contains no macros! - Brooks

"Escaping" tabulate

Hello! I'm expirementing with tabular layouts and have many problems with tabulate. For example I want to make tabulate header of description but ConTeXt gives me errors about missing } and such. I is possible to make tabulate "one big letter" as in LaTeX and manipuate it as a whole? I haven't any luck with combinations of vbox/hbox. Maybe there is ConTeXish way to do this? -- Radhelorn <radhelorn(a)mail.ru>

tweaking underlining

Reading the list archives, it looks like there are certain advantages, to performing underlining according to my example below: ===== \setupcolors[state=start] \definetextbackground[underline][location=text,alternative=1,background=,frame=off] \definestartstop [underline] [before={\starttextbackground[underline]}, after=\stoptextbackground] \starttext \startunderline{}http://gurulabs.com/\stopunderline \stoptext ===== I would like to tweak this a little however. Specifically, I'd like to change the color of the line and move it down a point or two. I think I've tracked this reference down to the definition of mpos:par:columnset, but at this point am lost as to how to proceed. Metapost is still beyond me.
