enable kerning with discretionary hyphen

Dear list, as I have asked in a previous message to the list, I wanted to be able to hyphenate \ConTeXt. Aditya kindly suggested the use of \discretionary, but this has an unintended collateral effect: kerning is disabled in the word. I can specify kerning with \discretionary, such as in: \def\ConTeXt{Con\discretionary{-}{}{\kern-.06em}\TeX{}t} But this also has another consequence: this works right for Pagella regular, but this is wrong with the italic font or in small caps (also with the bold or bold italic fonts, but I don’t use them). \hyphenation would be the way to solve this, but I don’t know how to make it work: \def\ConTeXt{Con\TeX{}t} \hyphenation{Con-\TeX} \starttext \hsize\zeropoint \ConTeXt ConTeXt \stoptext Even in the case it could work, I would like to know how I could define commands (\ConTeXt or \TeX) only referred to individual fonts. Comment after \startseparatedlist[...]

Dear list, if there is a comment after \startseparatedlist[...] from the database module, context fails. Reference in a startcombination environment

Dear friends I would like to know if I can make a reference (via \in, \at, etc.) in a \startcombination ... \stopcombination environment to each subfigure. For example, I have a Figure 1.1. MkIV XML and |c|c|c|

Hi, I'm trying to glue MkIV XML handling to ConTeXt's tabulation. My markup has a HTML-style table model, with an arbitary number of <col> elements. My problem is to produce the |c|c|c|c| format based on the number of <col> elements I have, rather than hardcoding a specific number of columns. I thought I could do something like this, but unfortunately the string produced by \xmlconcat{#1}{col}{\|} seems to be ignored: % in practice this would produce various alignments, not just "c" \startxmlsetups xml:col c \stopxmlsetups \startxmlsetups xml:table \starttabulate[\|\xmlconcat{#1}{col}{\|}\|] \xmlall{#1}{thead|tbody} \stoptabulate \stopxmlsetups Whereas this works fine, as I'd expect: \starttabulate[|c|c|c|c|] (I'm also confused about the escaping for \| there. I guess the [] is a special environment, with | being given a different catcode, perhaps?) Is there a way to do this, with the number of columns and their alignment generated from the input XML? error bar gap with pgfplots/tikz and custom colour

Dear list, I'm using pgfplots to create some bar charts with error bars, and I want to use custom colours for them. This works, but if I mix a custom colour with another colour, it results in a gap between the error bar line and the error bar mark. If two custom colours are mixed, the gap seems to be doubled. Mixing with predefined colours works normally. Hi, How can I read a structureuservariable at the end of the section, when there are subsections? footnotes in appendices

Dear list, on a document I have, I want to have footnotes in appendices, but they are numbered in uppercase Roman numbers. Here is a sample: \starttext \startappendices a\footnote{b.} \stopappendices \stoptext How can I change it to Arabic numbers?
