The following: \setupdirections[bidi=global] \definefallbackfamily[mainface][serif][SBL Hebrew][range={0591-05F4,FB1D-FB4F}] \definefontfamily[mainface][serif][TeX Gyre Termes] \setupbodyfont[mainface, 10pt] \starttext xxxx yyyy zzzz \setupalign[rtl]{ ﬡﬡﬡﬡﬡﬡﬢﬢﬢﬢﬢ } \setupalign[ltr]aaaa bbbb \stoptext sets as it should with ConTeXt ver: 2018.09.13, LuaTeX, Version 1.09.0 (and several betas later). XML roundtripping

Hi everyone I am setting up a workflow for a journal where we will be using JATS XML as an input format. PDFs should be typeset via ConTeXt. Is roundtripping possible with ConTeXt? I will perhaps need to write page numbers back to a XML file (either to the input file or to a new file.). Best, Denis

Bug or not?

There is an interaction in the placement of float captions when their width is set and background coloring switched. Minimal example included here, the jpeg is arbitrary of course. Output shown. Setting the width of the caption effectively shifts the caption to the left. See the change between the last two floats where [background=] changes the game. I wonder, is this intended behaviour? issues with rotated paper size

Dear list, I have the following sample: \setuppapersize[A4, landscape][A4, 90] %~ \setupinteractionscreen[option=max] \showframe \starttext \showlayout \stoptext For some reason, the page is displaced from the paper bottom. And if fullscreen is set, the real paper size is a square. I think this may be a bug. Could anyone explain me what I’m doing wrong or confirm the issue? filling page to bottom

I find that the current (default) settings tend to break pages early, leaving a fairly large amount of whitespace at the bottom of the pages. Obviously in order to avoid breaking paragraphs or to avoid small parts of a paragraph at the top of the page. What parameters do I have to tweak to fill the pages more completely? Because I planned already to examine all pages individually for their appearance, inserting breaks by hand is not the problem here. dr. Hans van der Meer

Split up PDF a certain

Hi, is there a way to split up a PDF a certain points, e.g. at every \startsection? (I am thinking of a way to produce both one PDF for a complete journal issue and for each individual articles. Or should I better use an external tool to post-process the resulting PDF?) Best, Denis

Compiling multiple files without master document

Hi, Currently it is possible to process a file with an external environment file specified via the command line. ``` context file --environment=mydefs ``` Very nice. Is it possible to process multiple files from the command line without a master document? Like so: ``` context file1 file2 file3 --environment=mydefs ``` Or should I just use `cat file1 file2 file3 > file` before processing? Best, Denis

context standalone installation broken

./first-setup.sh --engine=luatex --modules=all downloads ok, but then .../tex/setuptex gives this error: "/home/massi/context/latest/tex" is not a valid TEXROOT path. (There is no file "/home/massi/context/latest/tex/texmf/tex/plain/base/plain.tex") provide a proper tex root (like '. setuptex /something/tex') Massimiliano
