EB Garamond works in TL2016 ConTeXt but not in latest ConTeXt

In my source ConTeXt file I have the lines: \usetypescriptfile[type-ebgaramond] \setupbodyfont[ebgaramond,10pt] ConTeXt from TL 2016 correctly formats the text in EB Garamond, as can be shown by the prescence of mkiv lua stats > loaded fonts: 2 files: ebgaramond12-regular.otf, texgyrebonum-math.otf whereas the latest ConTeXt gives: fonts > defining > font with asked name 'EBGaramond12-Regular' is not found using lookup 'file' fonts > defining > unknown font 'EBGaramond12-Regular', loading aborted fonts > defining > unable to define 'EBGaramond12-Regular' as 'ebgaramond-10pt-rm-tf-0--0' and typesets the text with TeX Gyre Bonum Math. I have the EBGaramond fonts installed, set the OSFONTDIR path in setuptex, etc. What exactly is wrong here?

Creating one's own style

Thank you for the instructions on how to make one's own style. I only need to change the formatting in the bibliography list, the formatting of the notes in the text is entirely up to the requirement. A strange effect (full MWE in attachment): \btxdoifelse {address} { {\btxspace \emdash \btxspace \btxflush{address} \btxcomma} } \btxdoifelse {year} { {\btxspace \btxflush{year} \btxperiod} } gives "year 2000", but throw out the "address" part, and the year goes straight without the 'year' part. \btxdoifelse {year} { {\btxspace \btxflush{year} \btxperiod} } if you add publisher between the address and the year, then it says "publisher Brill" \btxdoifelse {publisher} { {\btxspace \btxflush{publisher} \btxcomma} } Where does it pull it up from?

Questions on columnsetspan (and grids and backgrounds)

Hi, I have for some hours tried to understand how to work with columnsetspans (I'm trying with an updated lmtx), and have some questions. 1) Is it only the floats that has the long list of placement options (given on p. 18 in the columnsets manual), or should they also apply to columnsetspans and columnsetareas? (I cannot get it to work with "default=fxtb:2*10" and similar options for other elements than floats). It would be useful to have it for other type of elements as well. 2) What is the current correct way to get back on grid after formulas? The only key that had lead me to something that seems to work in \setupformulas is "option=depth". Is that the way to go? 3) This is a bit unrelated, but is it possible to set page backgrounds on specific page. Something like \setupbackgrounds[page][page=3, ...] (I cannot find any keys for this in setup-en.pdf). Right now I can set it for an odd and an even page, but then if I want a background on the page after that, I have to put that code at the place where it will be used. (I got an error with \startpostponing[+1] ... \stoppostponing) 4) To be a bit more concrete on the first issue: In the example below, how can I place the columnsetspan at the bottom right? Second and third column, 10 lines down? readposition() in mkiv font-dsp.lua

Hi, I am using luaotfload.sty in TexLive 2019, that is latex. On my mac, everything is flawlessly working. But I've heard from somebody that NotoSansCJKkr-Regular etc fonts are not usable on Windows machine; so I tested on 32-bit Windows 10 virtual machine with small memory (2GB) and it was really unusable. I did some digging into the source code of luaotfload package. Now I have a guess that readposition() in font-dsp.lua might be the culprit. For instance, when format == 0x04 and the result of readshort(f) == 0, then the return value of the function is currently "true". After it has been changed to "false", NotoSansCJKkr fonts are working quite well on 32-bit Windows. With the same changes of readposition() on my 64-bit Mac, the elapsed time for making cache file of NotoSansCJK fonts has been dramatically reduced: from 25 seconds to 10 seconds. And the resulting cache file is perfectly the same as before. So I would like to suggest those return values to be changed to "false". Certainly, I do not know much about opentype spec, so I might be wrong and there could be good reasons for current code state. Regards, -- Dohyun Kim Seoul, Republic of Korea

Test XML node registration

Having a series of nodes in setups in a helper module: \startxmlsetups xmlcommon:setups \xmlsetsetup{#1}{error|comment|... etcetera}{xmlcommon:*} \stopxmlsetups \xmlregistersetup{xmlcommon:setups} I would like to check if a certain node is in that series of nodes. For example doing \doifelse{\xmltag{#1}}... where the true branch is taken when \xmltag{#1} is one of those registered in the xmlcommon:setups. Is that possible? Then what macro has to be called? dr. \xmlfirst lookup over whole document

Hi, I am trying to use \xmlfirst to find a reference that is not in the current node. In the manual there is the exmple: {\xmlfirst {example-3-1} {div[@class='footnotes']/ol/li[@id='\xmlrefatt{#1}{href}']}} This is quite close to what I need, but I am not processing a buffer. How can I use this lookup mechanism to look over the current file/all nodes? Best, Denis
