incrementnumber of part vs. not showing up in table of contents

Hi, When i \setuphead[part][incrementnumber=no] so that all the chapter numbering will be continuous, the part doesn't show up in my Table of Contents. when i change it to 'yes' or remove incrementnumber, the part shows up in the ToC, but the chapters are now reset to 1 at each part break. hyphenation

I'm typesetting something in Croatian language. In cont-en.tex I put an \installlanguage, and properly configured the hyphenation tables (which languages to include/exclude). In my main project file, I put \mainlanguage[hr]. Is this enough for Context to use Croatian hyphenation rules? Is there a way to check by which rules does it hyphenate? (I myself am not too familiar with my own language's hyphenation :), but some words do appear hyphenated strangely nevertheless.. so I'd just want to check it)

subpagenumber

Hi, I want to use sub page numbering in a document but I cannot get it to work. I put these commands in my tex file: \setupsubpagenumber[state=start] \setupfootertexts[][Page \subpagenumber de \numberofsubpages] \starttext \part {Part 1} ..... \part {Part 2} I got this message on my console: ! Undefined control sequence. <argument> Page {\subpagenumber } de \numberofsubpages {}{}{} I'm using ConTeXt ver: 2003.1.31 fmt: 2003.4.23 int: english mes: english Any clues will be appreciated! Inclusion of flow chart

Hans, Thanks for the answer on the section and paragraph signs. I tried \definesymbol[yen][\getglyph{\char165}] to have a yen sign, but it didn't work. How should I do it otherwise? Now, I have another brainteaser. I have a number of charts which a very similar one to another. They all have the same boxes, with the same texts. The only difference from one chart to another is the arrows: I am drawing different arrows with different comments from one chart to another. To be more efficient, I created a chart containing all the shapes without any arrows. Then for each chart, I use the example given at the top of page 8 on the chart doc: \includeFLOWchart[][] (this works perfectly) and I then try to define the arrows. \connection mentions where the arrows goes to, but not where it comes from (which is given by the surrounding cell definition). So I tried the following \startFLOWcell \name[name1] \connection[name2] \stopFLOWcell where name1 and name2 are cells defined in the generic chart. As you might have guessed, this breaks everything. Has anybody an idea as to how I could do that? Custom definition of a bodyfont (and using it)

Hi, I'm trying to make my own headings, and it doesn't really come out the way I want. I'll describe what I'm trying to do, and maybe someone has something that can help me. I'd like to have the chapter number really big, in a (light) colour in the background. The title should go over the number. If possible/needed, the number may end up (partially) under the text. I think I can get the positioning correct (in metapost/metafun if I have to), but defining the (huge) font in ConTeXt proves a hurdle I cannot tackle. My attempts (copied rather directly from the manual) are below. m-unit and extra information for a unit.

Hi TeXnicians, I'd like to have an extension to the units module (I don't mind cooking something myself, but a pointer where to start would be great). In my thesis I will encounter some weird units (one is displayed below, it not the worst, but it comes close). I'd like to produce a list of units, but just the symbol and the actual unit is not really enough, I need room for a description. Ideally this description should be given at the definition of the unit. What I have now is sort-of in between, code shown below. Since the unit module is based on synonyms, I probably have to extend those, but I'm afraid that I really don't understand that code... My current method should work, but it requires a double definition (unless someone comes up with an idea how to define (double if I have to) in one place, and put the resulting list in another location). Ideas? About Big-5 Traditional Chinese

Dear all, ConTeXt has Big-5 Traditional Chinese build-in(thanks :), but I can't let it work normally. Because of the `\' and `}' character in Big-5 charset. For example, Big5-0xB35C(uni8A31), Big5-0xA55C (uni529F) and Big5-0xB67D(uni958B). I use ttf2pt1 to produce *.tfm, *.enc and *.map file for ConTeXt, and use default Poorman's Chinese encoding, I can let the pdfetex grasp TTF directly, but I don't know how to escape `\' and `}'. My system, Slackware Linux 8.1 teTeX-1.0.7 pdfTeX (Web2C 7.3.7) 3.14159-1.00b-pretest-20020211 ConTeXt: TeXExec 3.2 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2003 I change font-chi.tex to use \TraChi default, and change to my Arphic public font`bsmi00lp'. I attach a simple test file(in Big-5 encoding). Did I miss something? Thanks for the help. Edward

Why isn't my space a space?

Hello, I'm trying use pretty printing Java inline. To get my keywords in a slanted typeface, I've found out that I need a space before and after the statement I'm typesetting. I'm trying to automate the space in a macro \Java[], but am having no success. I believe I'm typesetting a space before and after my statement, but the space isn't acceptable to the \type macro: ----- \definetype [typeJV] [option=JV,palet=graypretty,style=\ttx,icommand=\sl] \def\Java[#1]{\typeJV{ #1 }} \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext This statement should have inserted spaces, in order to trigger the slanted behaviour in the `import' keyword: \blank[medium] The ``\Java[import java.io.File;]'' statement \blank[big] This is the type of typesetting I would like to automate: \blank[medium] The ``\hskip-0.5em\typeJV{ import java.io.File; }\nospace{}'' statement. \stoptext -----
