Hello, does somebody know how to get some space between two \head entries in the ConTeXt-way? I tried the following, but without success: \starttext begin \startitemize[packed][beforehead=\blank,headstyle=bold] \head head\par line \head head\par line \head head\par line \stopitemize end \stoptext Only with the following hack, I get the desired result: \starttext begin \startitemize[packed][headstyle=bold] \let\headO\head \def\head{\blank\headO} \head head\par line \head head\par line \head head\par line \stopitemize end \stoptext Cheers, Peter -- http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/

Installing Truetype fonts in context.

--Like a good little TeXer I have always avoided Truetype fonts. But now I have a situation where the customer is requesting it, and has provided the font. So I have tried to follow the instructinns in the pdftex manual as well as those in Texfont Explained manual. First I got apparently clean results but the font looks just like Computer Modern. The only error message I can see is one asking for a pfb file which of course I don't have. Then following an earlier post I tried something like this. The font is a Devangari font, or perhaps more properly a Western font that looks a bit like Devnagari script. Here is my run script: ----------------------------------------------------- ttf2afm -e 8r.enc -o ds_izmir.afm ds_izmir.ttf texfont --en=8r --ve=truetype --co=all --makepath --install cd /usr/share/texmf-local/fonts/map/pdftex/context/ cat *map >plus.map mv plus.map /usr/share/texmf/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap updmap texhash ----------------------------------------------------------- With this run stream texfont has two complaints: first that it is an unknown vendor and second that it cannot find either a pfa or pfb file. There is a trick to it I am sure, and I am sure I do not know the trick. \goto a file in the parent directory

Hello, Assume that 'target.pdf' is in the current directory, the parent directory and in the 'subdir' directory. \setupinteraction[state=start] \starttext \goto{GOTO}[target::] % Works \goto{GOTO}[subdir/target::] % Works \goto{GOTO}[../target::] % Doesn't work \stoptext Any help is welcome. -- Denis.

rtf to Context convertor.

We have the program rtf2latex2e which works and is somewhat configurable. But it doesn't extend to a full Context convertor. Has anyone done any work in this direction? I am searching for something I could give to newcomers without involving them (or me) in compiling source code on a MSWin system. so an existing package that is fully configurable would be neat. A possibility would be some sort of word to XML to Context gyration. But the complexities daunt me already. -- John Culleton

dvipdfmx support

Hi, For those using dvipdfmx (e.g. with aleph) ther eis a new windows version at: http://www.metz.supelec.fr/~popineau/downloads/bin-dvipdfm-2005-05-07-win32… I patched spec-dpx, texexec and ctxtools to make working with it more comfortable - texexec understands the --dpx switch and will run dvipdfmx automatically (it also sets some env variables that are needed to isolate dvipdfmx and pdftex; awaiting a better solution in tds/kpse) (newtexexec also understand this and a bit more) - context will pass map file names to dvipdfmx in the same way as it does with pdftex (use \loadmapfile to load additional ones) - ctxtools can be used to convert pdftex map files into dvipdfmx ones (i may switch to some common format coded in xml that can be converted to either map format although before it comes to that pdftex/dvipdfmx/dvips may understand a common simple text format, work is in progress on that); another option is to use \loadmapline and make typescripts (and thereby get rid of mapfiles but i need to discuss that with mr. \stopbuffer in macro

Hello, how could I build some macros, that make usage of \startbuffer and \stopbuffer? Example: \def\startXXX[#1]{\doSomeMagicSetups{#1}% \startbuffer[...]} \def\stopXXX{\stopbuffer \doSomeSpecialWorkHere} And then: \startXXX[some options] some text \stopXXX TIA for any help! spurious text produced by TABLE

Dear posse, TABLE produces a spurious dot in the following (look closely at the center of the big box on the right). How can I get rid of this? If this is a bug, Is there a workaround? Hi, Well, after some bad hacking Adam, Patrick and me think that we got engine support working on all platforms. Interesting is that the problems for platforms -tetex and gwtex- were in different parts of the code, so there must be subtle differences in path settings (different kpse branches in texexec). The solutions had to do with chomping on the one hand and complex paths on th eother hand. Patrick, I hope that i didn't mess up the garden server in the process -) Uploaded.
