Hi to all, sorry this should be obvious but I cannot find it in the docs. How do I set in \setupframed the frame "thickness" (i.e. the thickness of the surrounding border)? Hi all, Considering the fact that I have no answer for the thread "[NTG-context] Presentation style: customizing the right interaction menu (list-related thread)", I decided to reformulate my problem... After some experiments, I have the following code: \definehead [Topic] [chapter] \definehead [Subject] [section] \setuplist[Topic][alternative=f,criterium=all,align=left] \setuplist[Subject][alternative=f,criterium=chapter,align=left] \starttext \Topic{Topic 1} \Subject{Subject 1} \Subject{Subject 2} \Subject{Subject 3} \placelist[Topic,Subject] \Topic{Topic 2} \Subject{Subject 1} \Subject{Subject 2} \Subject{Subject 3} \stoptext Considering the fact that I use criterium=chapter in \setuplist[Subject], I thought that \placelist[Topic,Subject] leads to: Topic 1 Subject 1 Subject 2 Subject 3 Topic 2 but unfortunately, that's not the case and I don't understand why... I've also tried some setup with combinedlist but nothing works... Could someone explain why criterium as no effect... Moreover, I don't understand what coupling= on|off does... Renaud

Fitz, MuPDF, Apparition

While downloading latest ghostscript, I found some news at www.ghostscript.com. At ccxvii.net/apparition there are MuPDF and Fitz where MuPDF is a pdf parser for Fitz, a new graphics library. Apparition is a pdf viewer that seems very good (I try it and it is clean and quick.) Does anybody know something about them ? luigi

url compared to hyperref

When using hyperref and displaying the resulting PDF in xpdf, I see links that are active. I tried achieving the same with useURL, url and goto, but the resulting links aren't active in xpdf. I have to use acroread to have active links. Is there a compelling reason for this behavior? Thanks, Marko

Any idea about copy or clone fieldstack?

Hello everyone, I want to display dynamic system time on each page of my presentation. Displaying system time can be manipulated by JavaScript but, a field can be shown only once. So I used clone field and it works very well for me. But when I want to change the font (xxx presents the variable that gets the field): ------------------------------------------------ xxx.textFont = font.LucidaBright ; ------------------------------------------------ it can be compiled successfully, but when I open it with acrobat reader, there are many errors from javascript console. So I think that JS don't know the font, and I don't know how to embed the font into pdf file and make JS knows it. Then I turned to use field stacks. I use MetaPost to draw some needles and use JS to set_Field the fieldstack to the correct frame. But when I want to display the second clock, it seems that I should write another JS code to control the other fieldstack. So is there some command that clones the fieldstack just like \copyfield? Or how to assign the font of the field as I like? Hi all, I'm new to the list, although I'm working with ConTeXt since last spring. I have been trying to find everything I need on my own, but there is a problem I cannot solve at this moment. The thing is I'm writing my PhD thesis, and I would like to have not only a "List of figures", but also a "List of algorithms" and a "List of formulas". Is there a simple way to create a "\placeXXX" command similar to the \placefigure and a "\placelistofXXXX" similar to the "\placelistoffigures"? I suppose they can be programmed, but I'd rather not to start learning how to program in ConTeXt right now. Thanks in advance Angel-Luis Garcia

I have a book with parts and chapters; figures in the chapters are numbered 1.1, 2.1 etc. but sometimes a part has a figure in it as well, before the chapters start. The desired numbering for such figures is to follow the Part numbers, and be in capitalised roman numerals (in other words, Figure II would be the figure in the intro of Part 2). So I define a new clone of figure called Partfigure, and give it the necessary setups to make the numbering come out in cap roman; and I thought the easiest way of managing the number itself would be just to increment it each time \part is called. (Not every part has a figure.) But I can't seem to get the number to come out when I place the figure. Minimal example below (I have culled the actual \parts and just put in two increments, but the effect is the same). ---- \definefloat[Partfigure][figure]\definenumber[TrackingPartfigurenumber] \setuplabeltext[en][Partfigure=Figure ] \setupnumber[Partfigure][number=TrackingPartfigurenumber,conversion=Romannumerals,way=bytext] \setupcaption[Partfigure][style=\bf,numberstyle=\bf,headstyle=\it,align=middle,location=bottom] \starttext \incrementnumber[TrackingPartfigurenumber] \incrementnumber[TrackingPartfigurenumber] TrackingPartfigurenumber now equals \rawnumber[TrackingPartfigurenumber], which will display as \convertednumber[TrackingPartfigurenumber]. But it doesn't get used: \placefloat[Partfigure][here][-:PMRWFII]{A cow}{\externalfigure[koe]} Why not? \stoptext ---- I tried also \increment[Partfigure] but this produces exactly the same output. I also tried using ownnumber=true in the Partfigure setup and then feeding it the value {2} in the \placefloat call but that wouldn't compile. Where did I go wrong? I'm sure there is an easy way to do this. This one is a bit desperate, again, a very fussy author is waiting on it, so... Thanks all. Duncan

Hi all, [maybe this is a bit off topic and you think that the Metapost mailing list is the right place for such stuff. But I have quit this list quite some time ago, as there was more spam than regular posts. Try to forgive me... :D ] After buying the 'Metafont' manual, I'm now playing around with some mp macro programming. The problem in the attached example is, that the 'draw' variants of the [hv]line macro always work with a *fixed* pen size of 1pt (and I can't figure out why). I'm clueless..
