Different parameters for a continuing itemization

I use \startitemize[continue] quite a lot to create itemised lists which continue on from the last number of the previous list. I've only just noticed that the 'continue' keyword seems to mean that parameters in the second [...=...] list of a \startitemize are ignored. Example (tested on live @ contextgarden): \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext Hello world! \startitemize[n][color=blue,stopper={jkl}] \item Hello world! \item Hello world! \stopitemize Hello world! \startitemize[n,inmargin,continue][color=red,stopper={mnb}] \item Hello world! \item Hello world! \stopitemize \stoptext Note that the inmargin keyword in the second \startitemize does seem to work, but the parameters in the second set of [...=...] are ignored. I would really like to be able to continue numbering but be able to override formatting in the continuing list. I *thought* I had been able to do this before, but maybe not. If continue needs to keep this behaviour, is there any chance of a new continuenumberingonly keyword, or similar? :-) (The real world example involves moving from numbering in columns to numbering in the margin, but I need to adjust the width parameter for the continuing list, and it won't let me.) Putting sections into boxes

Dear all, I'd like to highlight entire (sub)sections (which don't cross page boundaries but only columns) with a MetaPost background ... e.g. I have a heading, some paragraphs, a display formula, an unordered list and the like and this should be "boxed". Symmetrical layer positioning?

Hello all, is there a "secret power switch" to tell ConTeXt that a particular layer has different positioning depending on wether it's on a left or right page? I can of course do it manually, either by changing the layer position on each page or by using two layers instead of one, but I wanted to know if there was a more straightforward way that I was missing. -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

endnotes

hello: I have a problem with endnotes. I use \placefootnotes at the end of each chapter. When the last page of a chapter is almost empty, the footnotes are placed at the same page, but when the las page of a chapter is almost full, the notes jumps to a new page. Also, I have a \stopcolumns before the notes. How can I force the notes to keep in the same page? Columns and colour background

According to the manual \setupcolumns inherits from \setupframed which does work ... Oliver

Html to Context using Wiki + hpricot

Hello All, I wanted to share my recent experience in co-ordinated document development. In our office we have to make annual reports, each part of which is contributed by a member. Previously everybody wrote 'Word' documents which was compiled into a larger report. Recently we had the idea to use a Wiki to ease the pain out of this process and to make it enjoyable for everyone involved. After looking around various wiki software we decided to install a brand-new one called Informl (http://informl.folklogic.net) . One nice feature about this is that in the edit mode twin windows are used, one for input and the other a realtime preview window. Anyway this approach could work with any Wiki software. One motivation behind using a Wiki as front-end was to involve people who new nothing about Tex or Context. Secondly it allowed any person to participate in the process from anywhere. Next we used the ruby library hpricot to retrieve the web document and filter it into a context document. This step was interesting and I would like to sharing the code with anybody interested. extra spacing between verse and chorus

Hello, Please, help me with the following. The \vbox and \bgroup\egroup tags are intend to keep a verse on a page, but they also add extra spacing (an extra line?) between the verse and chorus. Layers in ConTeXt

Hello all, I have a couple of questions concerning the use of layers in ConTeXt. I'm working with Luigi Scarso on a layout which is characterized by some fixed-position elements surrounding the actual main body of text. For the fixed-position elements, I'm using layers. However, my ConTeXt is a little rusty[*], so there are a couple of things which I need hints for. The first one is very simple: is there a way to 'fix' the layer's content "until they change"? I've currently set them as page backgrounds, but their content gets reset on each new page. The second question is slightly more complex: is there a way to add contents to a layer, rather than replacing the current layer content? Something like a macro \addtolayer[layername][hoffset=whatever(optional)]{additional content} Thanks in advance, -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta P.S. To prove that it's really me, I'll signal two minor typos in the context source: core-tab.tex:88:%D {inintable, ifsplittables} (first should be ifintable), and page-lyr.tex:81: \c!x=\zeropoint,\c!y=\zeropoint,\c!position=\v!no, page-lyr.tex:87: \c!location=rb,\c!position=\v!no,\c!page=, position=no is set twice in the same setup. [*] I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, the University has sucked up most of my time. I was never too happy with it, and I'm planning on a comeback :D

additional blank line in starttyping environment

Hi, I get an extra blank line at the beginning of the starttyping environment. How do I get rid of it?
