Thank you so much, Hans. :) It works great!. I must agree, however, with Georg's considerations. I am very grateful for the current solution, but an automatic selection of optical sizes could be insanely good, from a book designer point of view (I'm a book designer). mixed columns

Hi, I have several questions concerning mixed columns. How can I avoid, that the footnote overwrites the last line? 2.) How can I get balanced columns? 3.) Working with layers ... with example

At http://ideone.com/D6Mmj3 there is the title page for my document. I want to place the table in the middle of the A4 page (horizontally and vertically) and the logo beneath it, preferably at the bottom of the page. When I failed to get the table placed where I want it, at some point, I tried to use a layer. In the end the table was placed okay, but in a messy way I suppose. Now I have tried to add another layer but the logo appears to the right of the table or not at all. As far as I understand there can only be one background layer, so that trick with the table will not work again for the logo I guess. Can someone please help me to use multiple layers that I can exactly position?

Disabling interactive citations

I want to disable the clickable citations (in MkIV) while keeping other interaction for things like cross-references. So far I unsuccessfully tried some commands in my environment file like: \setupcite[interaction=stop,compress=yes] This is just my guesswork as I haven't found documentation for (setup)cite. P.S.: As for my motives, the links: 1. are missing when using the 'authoryear' alternative with APA bibliography style; 2. link to "references.pdf" while my project is one document in one differently named file and references.tex is just one product in it.

simplefonts wiki page added

Dear list, I have added a new simplefonts page for new users. (I hope it isn't full of errors ;-).) There may be some missing information, because I don't understand how the standard font handling in ConTeXt works. faked fonts not working

Dear list, as far as I can remember, this used to work in the past: \setupbodyfontenvironment[default][em=italic] \usemodule[simplefonts] \definefontfeature[fakeitalic][default][slant=.25] \definefontfeature[fakebold][default][extend=2] \definefontfeature[fakebolditalic][default][slant=.25, extend=2] \setmainfont[Larabiefont][italicfont={* Regular}, boldfont={* Regular}, bolditalicfont={* Regular}, italicfeatures=fakeitalic, boldfeatures=fakebold, bolditalicfeatures=fakebolditalic] \starttext regular, {\em fake italics (actually slanted)}, {\bf fake bold} and {\bf\em fakebolditalics}. \stoptext Is this a bug, or have I forgotten something? (mathematics) Stretching Unicode big operator

If I decide to use, for instance, "Σ" instead of "\sum", this operator is no longer stretched/scaling regardless of the sub/superscripts specified tot it. Is it possible to keep stretching/scaling while using Inicode characters for such operators?

There are not so many fonts with that property and even less in the free software world, so one can assume that somebody possessing such font knows what that means and probably expects its support. I think, context should by default use the appropriate font for each font-size corresponding to the design range defined in the font’s table, while providing an interface to override that automatism. Hi, There is a 'size' table in opentype fonts which contains informations about the design size, the design range and a style-ID and -name. Fonts that come with different optical sizes do in fact use that table exactly for the purpose desired by Andrés. Latin Modern does so, Adobe fonts do so and EB Garamond happens to use that table too. XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX interpret it correctly (by means of fontspec, IIRC). So perhaps it’s worth reconsidering this. Best regards, Georg
