I want to use a colored hairline, but can't get it working and can't find anything to explain any options or parameters. I've tried \setuptextrules[rulecolor=red,color=red] \hairline or \hairline[color=red] Doesn't work this is a test \thinrule[color=red] also doesn't catch the color or does this is a test \thinrule[color=red] Can the hairline command be set to use a specific color and how? Same for the \thinrul command Thanks

error in seeindex sorting

Me again on registers. If you have an entry with just subentries and a reference (seeindex) from the main entry to an *existing* other entry, the reference is sorted at one of the subentries. I.e. in the MWE we get Fun games 1, see sample stuff 1 instead of Fun see sample games 1 stuff 1 \starttext \index{sample} \index{Fun+games}\index{Fun+stuff} \seeindex{Fun}{sample} \placeindex[n=1] \stoptext This prevents the completion of a scientific tome, so would be really nice if this could be fixed. Parsing \...luacode within a \def

Hello, I encountered a phenomena that I cannot understand. Let's have the following code: ---- \def\T{% \startluacode context("t") \stopluacode } \def\U{% \startluacode -- context("u") \stopluacode } \starttext A \startluacode -- context("b") \stopluacode \T \U \stoptext ---- This gives "Abt" - but there is no "u". It seems that the (first) comment mark "--" within a \startluacode within \def (here: \def\U) causes all code till \stopluacode is being ignored. But why? Maybe I'm missing something very basic... Is there a source of context document forms for invoices, (and other documents), that have been contributed for open modifications and use? If not it would be very beneficial to people to have such a depository. Please let me know. Regards

TeXLive and ConTeXt

Hi all, I would like to report (with a rather bad humor) on an issue regarding the use of ConTeXt when one starts with TeXLive. Last week I was at a meeting of mathematicians and several people asked me to explain why I am using ConTeXt rather than LaTeX, and show them some of the features which (according to me) are fundamentally better thought and better designed. When some of my colleagues were convinced with what I showed them, since they had already a version of TeXLive installed on their computer, they wanted to try out ConTeXt on their own. So we tried to make some tests with their own installation of TeXLive and ConTeXt on their machine, and this is when the troubles began, because none of them could run ConTeXt out of the box… I confess that I am not at all a geek and my knowledge of ConTeXt is rather elementary, and just sufficient for my own (elementary) needs, therefore I could not solve the problems preventing those people to use ConTeXt. However, as those people told me, when using LaTeX they don't need any further technical knowledge, since any file can be typeset out of the box with an installation of TeXLive. So here is my frustrated question: why we cannot typeset a file « test.tex » written in TeX and using ConTeXt commands just by saying context test.tex in a terminal window (nor using a GUI front end) while one would be able to do that if that file were written using LaTeX commands? I know that it is possible to search on the web and find an answer regarding the steps one should take to enable ConTeXt from TeXLive, but it is not natural to expect people come to ConTeXt if they cannot use it out of the box. By the way, just for testing I installed TeXLive 2018, and could not use ConTeXt out of the box… (and I don't remember what I should do to enable it…). Indeed it is always possible to install a standalone version of ConTeXt on one's machine, but this pushes us to behave like a sect in the TeX community. I don't know to whom I should write to have ConTeXt enabled in TeXLive when one installs it: can anyone give me a hint? font pathes with colons

I have been playing around with lua fonts and investigating where to store and how to load them. The best with luaotfload and latex seems to be currently to get (with a kpse call) the absolute path and then load with the "xetex" syntax: \font\duckchessfont = [\directlua{tex.sprint(kpse.find_file("luafont-duckchess.lua", "misc fonts"))}]:mode=node;+liga;+tlig;original=latinmodernsans This worked but I also saw in the log curious messages luaotfload | load : font option "/Users/XXXX/Documents/Git/lua-font- pond/texmf/fonts/misc/luafont/luafont-duckchess.lua]:mode=node" unknown. I investigated a bit. I'm on windows and imho this looks as if the syntax parser is splitting after the C: of the drive and putting the rest in the specification.detail field. As far as I can see the code which does the splitting is in font-def.lua and so part of the generic code. Is there anything that can be done to correct his? Or can one somehow protect the colon after c: to be interpretated as file-detail separator? -- Ulrike Fischer http://www.troubleshooting-tex.de/

OT: Pexeso (one missing rule)

Hello, there is a card game called "Pexeso". It is played by two or more players with pairs of cards of identical pictures. Initially, cards are spread regularly and are turned upside down. The first player turns two cards; if they are identical, he picks them and continues turning two more cards. If both cards do not show the same picture, ---> THEY ARE TURNED BACK UPSIDE DOWN and the next payer follows. (So the game is about to remember as many cards as possible which have been turned/shown.) The game stops when there are no more cards to turn. Who collects more pairs of cards is winner. Usually, you can buy Pexeso of Barbies, princesses, road signs, castles, ... My little son (of nearly 4 years) ignores all above as he is interested (or even fascinated) by construction machinery and woodworking tools. So I decided to create a Pexeso of woodworking tools for him with the following points: - Pictures to be processed are placed in the subdirectory called "1" (may be changed). - Pictures whose name do not start by "-" have the first letter uppercased shown on the card ("education" for letters). - You may simply change the text or MP code to draw the card back. - Backs of cards are intentionally a bit randomized (I am curious how quickly children are able to recognize some cards by their backs). - When the number of cards is not multiple of two (also my case), two more backs of cards will be drawn. This is intended and it comes due to some simplicity of the code; and it doesn't matter to anything. - Source uses UTF-8 coding. - There are no dependencies to external files (excluding pictures). - The source file is attached. Graphics gets extra indent if hanging in list

Hi! Please look at the example below. I wish the red rectangle to be located as the green one aligned with text to the right, but it gets pushed a bit (the space to the left in the list?). Am I doing things wrongly? highlighting in registers (index)

According to http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Registers#Processors, processors are the MkIV way of highlighting within index entries. If there are highlighted and not-highlighted entries, the normal version wins. If there is a highlighted version with subentry, the subentry becomes highlighted and is sorted unter the normal main entry, if there doesn’t exist a normal entry with the same subentry. (These are just observations, I wouldn’t know how it should be different.) issue with hyphenation patterns

Dear list, I have the following sample: \setuplanguage[agr][patterns={agr, en}] \setuplanguage[en][patterns={en, agr}] \starttext \hyphenatedword{judgmental} \agr \hyphenatedword{judgmental} \stoptext I wonder why \en hyphenates the word and \agr doesn’t. I mean, both languages have the same patterns loaded. Using \de or \es, hyphenation works fine in both cases: \setuplanguage[agr][patterns={agr, deo}] \setuplanguage[deo][patterns={de, agr}] \mainlanguage[de] \starttext \hyphenatedword{Klugheit} \agr \hyphenatedword{Klugheit} \stoptext \setuplanguage[agr][patterns={agr, deo}] \setuplanguage[es][patterns={es, agr}] \mainlanguage[es] \starttext \hyphenatedword{experimentado} \agr \hyphenatedword{experimentado} \stoptext If this isn’t a bug, what am I missing?
