MetaPost shading broken with latest beta

Using goto in lua

Hi, As mentioned in cld-mkiv.pdf, the entire ConTeXt interface can be called from lua: This is great! Unfortunately the ConTeXt command \goto is a little problematic because goto is a lua keyword. Therefore, the following leads to a lua error: context.goto("text", { "label" }) I guess the only way to call goto from lua is context(false, "\\goto{text}[label]") Am I correct? Cheers, Christoph

How to display widows/orphans

Hello, I know, that letting context to solve all widow/orphans automatically is possible like: \startsetups[grid][mypenalties] \setdefaultpenalties \setpenalties\widowpenalties{1}{10000} \setpenalties\clubpenalties{1}{10000} \stopsetups \setuplayout[grid=yes, setups=mypenalties] or even only: \widowpenalty=10000 \clubpenalty=10000 But this solution will let the page shorter (I will get one empty line on the bottom of the page). I would prefer to solve the widow problem manually, e.g. using \looseness=-1 or \looseness=1 on some paragraphs. In order to identify the problematic pages quickly, it would be nice to see them in the log (on the console), similarly how I see e.g. overfull hboxes. If I have an overfull line, I see: pages > flushing realpage 74, userpage 74 Overfull \hbox (2.01712pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 3504--3510 Now I would like to see a widow like: pages > flushing realpage 74, userpage 74 Underfull \vbox ... Is it something like this possible? Thanks. Pavel

xml, language, btx problems

Hi, I have a conceptual problem integrating btx into my xml workflow. There are too many files involved, so no minimal example, but a minimal description. Root of my xml document: <document language="en"> ... </document> I have two files with btx definitions: publ-imp-deutsch.mkvi publ-imp-english.mkvi Loading one of these two should depend on the main language: \doifelse {\currentlanguage} {en} {\usebtxdefinitions [english]} {\usebtxdefinitions [deutsch]} My problem: the main language is set within the processing rules for the root of my xml document: \startxmlsetups xml:document \mainlanguage[\xmlatt{#1}{language}] \stopxmlsetups However, this implies a \starttext. And the btxdefinitions need to be loaded before \starttext, or so it seems. Which means: the processing rules for \usebtxdefinitions need to be set outside of the xml setups. But at this moment, the main language is not set yet, and the \doifelse fails. Any hints how to get out of this conundrum? Thanks, and all best Thomas

Parsing \...luacode within a \def

Hello, I encountered a phenomena that I cannot understand. Let's have the following code: ---- \def\T{% \startluacode context("t") \stopluacode } \def\U{% \startluacode -- context("u") \stopluacode } \starttext A \startluacode -- context("b") \stopluacode \T \U \stoptext ---- This gives "Abt" - but there is no "u". It seems that the (first) comment mark "--" within a \startluacode within \def (here: \def\U) causes all code till \stopluacode is being ignored. But why? Maybe I'm missing something very basic... Confusing level change message, why?

The example below is taken from the wiki article "Titles <http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Titles>," with pdf bookmark apparatus prepended and a second chapter added to the bodymatter. In the log, this produces the lines: backend > bookmarks > confusing level change at level 3 around '1 body' backend > bookmarks > confusing level change at level 3 around 'A appendix' backend > bookmarks > confusing level change at level 3 around 'back' That is, one message for each *matter change.
