Dear gang, For, e.g., \setuphead[...][alternative=text], one often wants the stopper to appear in the main text sectioning but not in the references to those sections. OT: help from native speakers

Hi there, I’m writing (and later typesetting, of course) a book for young people (in German) that contains a short scene in English. My young protagonists meet an American couple in Lübeck, and I’d like them to speak natural and not think like me. Are you a native speaker and would you like to create that scene with me? (No special requirements, just be yourself.) I’ve got a concept that you could comment/correct, or we can do this like a roleplay (I’ll tell you what you see and hear, you tell me how you’d react). I’d also enjoy hearing about typical (or just funny) mistakes of young Germans trying to talk in English. Otherwise have a nice summer! 6-sided letter fold (TRYPTICHON) with unequal page size

Hi, I try getting a 6-sided letterfold with unequal page size to work. This is how it's supposed to look like: https://www.saxoprint.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/roll-fold-leafl… This is easy with the arranging option TRYPTICHON. *But* the page sizes are not equal and manually adjusting them shifts them not the way they're supposed to. Page 4 and 5 need to be a bit less wide to be able to fold neatly. Page width 1,2,3,6: 10cm Page width 4,5: 9.7cm How to adapt for the changed page size without an overlapping page 4 and a page with clearance to the adjacent 6th page? Suggestions welcome! Problem with luatex experimental on linux armhf

Hi all, since the replacement of poppler by pplib the self-compiled luatex executables doesn't work properly anymore. The binaries compile without stop errors. The size of the binaries is about 2MB less than with poppler. The embedding of pdf files doesn't work. ConTeXt breaks without writing a logfile and the last lines on the terminal are: ... fonts > preloading latin modern fonts (second stage) fonts > 'fallback modern-designsize rm 12pt' is loaded mtx-context | fatal error: no return code, message: luatex: execution interrupted I think, pplib isn't enabled. In the build.sh, there is a line: (336) (cd libs/poppler; $MAKE all ) but /libs/poppler doesn't exist. My testfiles are: \starttext \externalfigure[a.pdf] \stoptext a.tex \startMPpage fill fullcircle scaled 5cm withcolor blue; \stopMPpage Is there anything I can do or is it a problem of the source? Table generator : Issues with borders and rotated cells

Hi everyone, Excuse my poor English. I recently updated my online table generator (http://latex-tables.com) to support ConTeXt. It also supports many languages, like LaTeX, Plain TeX, Markdown, HTML and more. It uses the eXtreme table format and supports many features including : - Borders, border width and border color - Merged cells - Background color - Alignment (flushleft, center, flushright) - Splitted tables - Rotated tables - Caption - More... However, I have many issues that I have trouble to fix. 1/ I have many troubles with borders, because I can't set the color and the width of each border. Instead, I use "fake rows" and "fake cells" when it is necessary. However, I can't figure out how to set the height of a row to 0.4pt. It's always bigger. So, instead I use "location=hanging" on this row but, because of this, borders are hidden behind the next row's background. What can I do about this ? Custom tags, revisited

In September 2015 thread "Custom XML Export," Hans instructed us on how to create custom tags. The example he presented is: \setupbackend[export=yes] \definehighlight[this] \starttext \startelement[what] \this{that} \input ward \stopelement \stoptext When that example is run with the current (2018-06-25) beta or TL18, there is no html body: </head> <body> <div class="document" xmlns="http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/export"> <div class="warning">Rendering can be suboptimal because there is no default/fallback css loaded.</div> <div> <div class="metadata"> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> Further experimentation suggests that \startelement is gobbling the output. (Adding \setupstructure does not change the result.) What is the proper way to add custom tags? -- Rik

The space between the subsection numeral and the text is too large, even with distance=0em Negative distances don't behave well - toggle lines 4 and 5.
