Set a block of content at minimum distance from top of page?

Hi ConTeXt list, I have a document with a graphic (logo) in the upper right corner (positioned on a layer and placed as a background). To the left of this graphic are several text elements (Title, Author List, etc.) that don't go all the way across the page. (Currently I have wrapped them in \startnarrower...\stopnarrower -- is there a better way?) But this is followed by an Abstract paragraph that uses the full width of the page. I would like to ensure that the full-width text never starts high enough on the page that it encroaches on the upper-right-corner graphic. So, I'm looking for a way to protect the graphic, or to force the Abstract to start a minimum distance from the top of the page. The Abstract can be forced down the page if necessary by manually inserting a \godown[] command before it, but I would prefer a programmatic solution. Floating the graphic and wrapping text around it does not seem like a good option, because I want to ensure that its position is absolute and it never moves. Also, the Abstract needs to be full-width throughout, so I need to force it to start after the graphic rather than partially wrapping it. Any suggestions appreciated... You're right. I made a simple error in modifying strc-lst.lua. I typed 1 (numeral) rather than l (letter). Now it all works as you said it should. Thanks!

mirror one single character

Hi, one can use this ... \rotate[rotation=180]{\utfchar{"1D0E}} ... to rotate a single character when needed. Do we have a similar, handy command for mirroring a single character? Steffen

Bibliography problem

Hello, Here's a long-standing problem I have with BibTeX databases in ConTeXt Mk IV (I'm currently using version 2011.10.01). If there are multiple publications with the same authors and year, they get suffixes a, b, etc. as is usually expected in bibliographies. Unfortunately these suffixes appear even if only one of the works is actually cited. Minimal example: ==> test.bib <== @book{book2, title = {The second book}, author = {Ann Author}, year = {2000}, } @book{book1, title = {The first book}, author = {Ann Author}, year = {2000}, } ==> test.tex <== \setupbibtex[database={test},sort=author] \setuppublications[sorttype=bbl,refcommand=authoryear] \starttext % \cite[book1] % uncomment to demonstrate ordering problem \cite[book2] \placepublications[criterium=text] \stoptext This gives a citation of Author (2000a) despite there being no Author (2000b). A related problem is that even when both suffixes are used, they are applied in the order of the original .bib file rather than in the order of the typeset bibliography. So if \cite[book1] is uncommented in the above example, the bibliography contains Author (2000b) followed by Author (2000a). I'm guessing that problem is that the whole BibTeX file is processed into ConTeXt's \startpublication...stoppublication syntax, not just the cited works. I can't see a way around the this, other than creating a custom .bib file for each document with the problematic entries removed or re-ordered. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Pont

Dubious "checksum mismatch" message on log file

Hello, please consider the following example: <example file="ex8.tex"> \starttext \font\test=txr \test abs \stoptext </example> I process this document with context (context --version -> 2012.01.25) nothing suspecious in terminal output but in log file I see "checksum mismatch", <terminal> $ grep 'checksum' ex8.log checksum mismatch in font txr.vf ignored </terminal> Simple plain tex file <example file="ex9.tex"> \font\test=txr \test abs \bye </example> processed by luatex and pdftex engines (both from TeX Live 2011, I don't know how to generate formats for them in context suite) doesn't give same message. Is it a "bug" in font system of context? P.S. There is a thread on tex-live mailing list about "checksum mismatch", I took a little investigation that reveals the source of problem: 'luaotfload', adaptation of context font system for latex world. As you can see from "ex8.tex", current context have the same behaviour. I'm not fully sure if it is save to ignore this message (I read briefly about vf fonts here: http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/virtual-fonts.knuth) but as both pdftex and luatex engines give nothing on "plain" example I want to report about this issue. -- WBR, Vladimir Lomov -- That's the thing about people who think they hate computers.
