Chemical structure formula flows out

Hello I've been studying PPCHTEX these days, it's very powerful, and I cannot control it well. I know I can use like ================================ \startchemical [size=small,scale=small,width=9000,height=5000,left=3000] ================================ to specify the size, but I need to try several times to get a correct version. Is there any parameter that do this staff automatically? Meeting NTG saturday 18 november 2006

Dear list user, The Dutch TeX users group organizes a meeting on saturday 18 november. Location: Highschool Helicon, Zeist, The Netherlands. Theme: "The next generation TeX - a glance on the future" At the this moment active development takes place for the successor of pdfTeX. During next year this engine will be dirstributed. Next to this, steps are undertaken to improve the integration of the graphical possibilities of Metapost.in TeX. A bunch of new fonts are in the pipeline which can replace existing (free) font-collections: extended, improved, OTF versions. There are different initiatives for enhancing TeX and related programs e.g. giving them a more modern, up-to-date interface. Further one can see, that TeX is moving form the front-end into the background, so that users do not even know that the final work is performed with TeX. The mentioned aspects will be discussed and presented during the upcoming NTG-meeting. The NTG would like to invite you to join us. Hi all, if \underbar is used inside a MP text, it always uses a fixed rule thickness, regardless of the settings in ConTeXt. How can I change this? texfont create map file

I am now using the Debian context package with Debian texlive. It works very well but some fonts need tweaking. For instance, Zapf Chancery is in ~$ find /usr/share/texmf-texlive -name '*uzcmi8a*' /usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/afm/urw/zapfchan/uzcmi8a.afm /usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/type1/urw/zapfchan/uzcmi8a.pfb /usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/type1/urw/zapfchan/uzcmi8a.pfm but there are no .tfm or .vf and no map file, so my typescripts do not work. I assume I might use texfont to fix this but with what invocation? XeTeX, ConTeXt and PDF

Hi there, I'm using xdvipdfmx 0.3 and ConTeXt ver: 2006.11.06 09:10 MK II fmt: 2006.11.11 int: english/english. Papersize doesn't seem to work in \setuppapersize[A4,landscape]. Even if I use \pdfpageheight=21cm and \pdfpagewidth=29.7cm, I get a 29.7×29.7cm square as papersize. I think that the issues with XeTeX and papersize have been already solved. When producing bookmarks with XeConTeXt, for some strange reason destinations change the page view to /Fit. Is there any way to avoid this? Bookmarks are generated fine in UTF-8, but surprisingly (at least for me) the file info is wrong generated. new to ConTeXt

Hi there, after more than five years using LaTeX (Lambda and XeLaTeX, this one for the last months), I have decided to give ConTeXt a try. LaTeX is fine for me: I have typeset my own dissertation in Philosophy (with ancient Greek and Unicode) and a couple of books. But the modular design makes things tricky at the end, and I would like to give ConTeXt (with XeTeX and LuaTeX when it comes) a try. At the same time, I would like to switch from TeX to XML. TeX is fine, but XML is better for other than typographical purposes. Coming from the humanities, I guess the right choice is TEI (P5 is expected to be released before middle of the following year). I had some experience with XML and Docbook some years ago, but that was before I switched to Linux and Docbook aims to technical documentation (and I'm not a technical guy). I guess I can mix ConTeXt and XML with the eXaMpLe framework (I have just read about it at wiki.contextgarden.net). In order to understand TEI and ConTeXt, I would like to be able to create the files that will be able to compile an TEI XML document with ConTeXt without having to convert it to ConTeXt. I would like to avoid XSL and XSL-FO. I guess it should be something similar DocbookInConTeXt, but I don't know whether it uses the eXaMplE framework (I don't even know whether . Could anyone comment on this topic? I mean, whether the described task could be achieved with ConTeXt, which issues may arise, whether this is the best approach to the issue, whether I miss something, and so on. Columns and backgrounds problem

Hello, I am trying to use backgrounds in columns. Typically, the background runs into the other column as the following example. Is this a limitation, or am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. postoned text and headers

Hello everyone, I have a tex document where I postpone (\startpostponing) certain pages until later in the document. On those pages I would like the headers/footers turned off. I have tried \noheaderandfooterlines, and setting the header to high, but neither seem to work. Have I done something wrong or is there another way to do this? Specifying BibTeX engine

Hi, texexec has been doing the necessary BibTeX calls for some time now, but is there a way to configure which BibTeX engine is being called? I am using BibTeX 8 (because of Unicode in my bibliography) and have been renaming the executable so far, but it seems there should be a better way. (Incidentally, I've been using a Python script to convert BibTeX files between Unicode and {\=a}-style accent notation and am currently thinking of putting in ConTeXt {\adiaeresis}-style accents as well; would this be of interest to anyone?) Debian/texlive/context: Segfault in mpost
