Hey all, i've a question regarding the context document structuring facility. Maybe you can show me the right direction or show me what i made wrong. I'am currently working on a semester project, whose goal it is to build a CVS/ConTeXt Server accessible via Zope webapplications (an selfmade documentation management system). Our approach is to split the per semster documentation in products and the texts in components. The whole documentation is integrated in a project. Via webfrontend the user will be able to generate either the whole documentation of all semesters (project, including all products) or just one product. We've created a hierarchical directory structure like the following excerpt: CVSROOT/ ReaktorDocs/ Complete/ Makefile ReaktorDocs.tex (projectfile) path.tex (included by ReactorDocs.tex) products.tex (included by ReactorDocs.tex) Semester01/ Documentation/ Makefile Semester01.tex (product file) figures/ ... text/ Makefile semester01_txt001.tex (component file) semester01_txt002.tex (component file) Protocols/ ... Semester02/ ... Semester03/ ... Styles/ p-eng-doc-default.tex (environment file) p-eng-prot-default.tex (environment file) ... We've got it working in so far that the user can checkout one modul and gets the Semester directory and the styles directory (of course an cvs issue). The compilation of either one product or the whole project works too, via help of \usepath and tex conditions in every product file, which detects whether the front/back -matters should be omitted (for project compilation) or beeing kept (for product compilation). The only thing i can't figure out, is why the counter for \part and \chapter (probably all sectioning commands used in the products) resets per product. Is there any solution for that problem or a workaround to display an continuous \placecontent in the project scope? thanks in advance, Fabian Doerk

XML Processing (Newbie Question)

Thanks for answers about my previous query on processing XML output from an exam-making program. I should have been more specific, though. I don't know what to do with these instructions... Should I put them in a filter file? If so, how do I call it from the command-line? Sorry for being so ignorant of ConTeXt ways. A private answer would help. Thanks!

ANNOUNCING: e-Omega 3.14159--1.15--2.1, Release Candidate 1 e-Omega 3.14159--1.15--2.1 is now released to the public in its second release candidate version. Pre-built binaries are currently available for the MiKTeX distribution (see www.miktex.org) and the fpTeX distribution (see ftp://ftp.dante.de/pub/fptex/standalone/); the official sources are currently available (via CVS) from the MiKTeX source tree. e-Omega provides all the features available in Omega (except for the SGML/XML handling) and all the features available in e-TeX (except for its multidirectional TeX--XeT capabilities, which have been abandoned in favour of the Omega ones). This release fixes the most outstanding bug in the Omega 1.15 series (the TRIP bug), which also affected the previous release (RC0) of e- Omega. Given that RC0 has already been tested (successfully) in production-use environments, it is my belief that this version should be quite ready for widespread use. XML Processing

Hello all, I'm building an exam using "ExamView Pro" which has, surprisingly, an XML export feature. I'd like to process the exam content into ConTeXt. I've looked at the "Example" file and tried to understand how it all works, but I'm not sure I can. So far, I've been able to process entities and MathML using the mm* and ent as options for --xmlfilter (texexec --pdf --xmlfilter=mml,mmp,mmc,ent file.xml) but I can't even get <b> to work as planned with any of the xtag-* files. I'm guessing I need to use the x-contml.tex file, but I don't know why. Then, I'll probably need some guidance to have everything work. The ExamView XML format uses attributes but I'd be happy with just getting the basic format straight. What makes it somewhat harder is that I don't have so much experience with ConTeXt anyway. So, I'd appreciate any help. Here's the basic structure of the data I want to process: <question> <text></text> <choices> <choice></choice> </choices> <answer></answer> <info> <difficulty></difficulty> <reference></reference> <text-objective></text-objective> </info> </question> In LaTeX terminology (sorry!) what I want is to have all the question texts as items in an "enumerate" and answer choices in an alphabetical enumerate for each question. Doesn't sound too hard. In fact, I guess I could probably do a find and replace... Thanks in advance for your help.

Metafun error

Just got back into Metafun. I used the example program from page 5 of the manual: ------------------------------------------ \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext \startuseMPgraphic{dummy} fill fullcircle scaled 5cm withcolor red; \stopuseMPgraphic \useMPgraphic{dummy} \stoptext ------------------------------------------ When I run texexec test.tex I get: ----------------------------- This is MetaPost, Version 0.641 (Web2C 7.3.7x) (test-mpgraph.mp >> spotcolors >> true ! Equation cannot be performed (numeric=boolean). <to be read again> ; l.23 spotcolors := true ; --------------------------- on the second pass. If I eliminate the red color it still doesn't work. The file test-mpgraph.mp contains these lines which look ok: cmykcolors := true ; spotcolors := true ; color OverlayColor, OverlayLineColor ; If I just generate the graphic with texexec --mptex test.tex that works OK. A Metapost question

Good noon. I'm sorry that I bother you with an off-topic question, but I know here are many Metapost gurus. I'd like to join two point (E1 and E2) having the same ypart (ypart(E1)=ypart(E2)) with the TeX underbrace sign. To do it I have to tell TeX (via btex ... etex?) the horizontal distance of the two points. Do you know how can I do it? Many thanks, M.K.

For example, I should can say things like: Use font with designsize 10pt for all the fontsizes lower and equal to 10pt and scale acoordingly. Use font with designsize 11pt for the fontsize 11pt. Use font with designsize 14.4pt for fontsizes from 12pt to infinity and scale them. What about encoding? For example, an OT1 font doesn't contains german umlauts, a T1 font does.
