Hi everybody, I am struggling.... Previously it was possible to place a toc with the command \placecontent within a block. Currently I am using: ConTeXt ver: 2002.12.2 fmt: 2002.12.9 int: english mes: english With the above mentioned version there is only a toc if placed outside the block. - Is there something changed or broken? chinese font setup

A few weeks back, there was a short exchange on this list regarding utilities for preparing chinese fonts for ConTeXt. One of the postings provided a link to some new utilities. I've since downloaded the file there (gbkfonts-linux-0.2.tar.gz) but am unsure as to how to proceed. If anyone with experience in this area could provide some advice, I'd appreciate it. context on solaris

Hope this is the right place to ask...I have used, very gratefully, ConTeXt for the past few years on my Debian GNU/Linux system, and sometimes, when possible, I have installed it on client's/employer's Windows computers, using MikTeX. Maybe I have to change my OS from Debian to Solaris, on an Intelx86 machine, and so I would like to know if anyone has been using ConTeXt in that environment, or, if there is any reason to expect that it might or might not work. I noticed in the teTeX download page: http://theory.uwinnipeg.ca/search/tetex.html that pre-compiled binaries are available for Solaris running on Sparc computers, but it doesn't say anything about x86 machines. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated - non-programmer, end-user writing. By the way, my occupation is architect (buildings) and I use ConTeXt for all kinds of document preparation - office work, correspondence, presentations, etc. I recently received a reply to a proposal which I submitted, which included the following: > Thanks, I'll be back in touch. > Robin > PS most beautiful proposal ever! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Maybe the enthusiasm is a bit exaggerated, but, to the extent that there is truth in the sentiment, credit is largely due to ConTeXt, ConTeXt's author, and to the many on this list who have helped out over the years. Chinese font files

Hi, I've installed the simplified chinese fonts from ftp.ctex.org (ttf,tfm,enc and map file), and TeX seems to be able to find the .enc files but pdftex complains about not being able to open the ttf files. What's the correct location in the texmf-local tree for the ttf files? DocbookInContext: new version uploaded

cont-sys.tex or cont-sys.rme?

In the installation manual (minstall.pdf) it is said that if I want to change the defaults, I have to edit the 'cont-sys.tex' file to, say, enable '\setupoutput[pdftex]' as default. However, I cannot find the file. I am using teTeX from Debian 3.0, and when I run 'locate cont-sys' (after a 'updatedb') I get emil:~# updatedb emil:~# locate cont-sys /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/cont-sys.ori /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/user/cont-sys.rme Is this a bug in the installation manual? Note that it make the changes suggested in minstall.pdf in the cont-sys.rme file; is this the correct thing to do?
