I have been working with MetaPost as following, which worked fine with one startMPcode section with variables, but with 2 startMPcode Metapost sections, it keeps telling me the numbers dont add up: \definefloat [floatright][figure] \setupfloat [floatright][default={right,none}] \setuplayout [backspace=20mm,width=170mm,topspace=20mm,height=250mm] \starttext \placefloatright{}{ \startMPcode pair a, b; a := (0,0); b := (50,50); draw a -- b; \stopMPcode} \placefloatright{}{ \startMPcode pair a; a := 2cm; draw fullcircle scaled (2*a); \stopMPcode} \stoptext I also have tried with the startbuffer combination as below, but this gave the same error codes. Biblatex \crossref equivalent in bibliographies

Hi, With biblatex I was using crossref to shorten my .bib files, as can be seen in this MWE @periodical{DebatMem2002, title = {Le Débat}, number = {122}, langid = {french}, date = {2002} } @article{ChartiersurRicoeur2002, author = {Roger Chartier}, title = {Le passé au présent}, crossref = {DebatMem2002}, pages = {4--11} } Which keys should I use to achieve the same under ConTeXt? I found xcrossref and percentcrossref keys "Bibliographies. The ConTeXt way" but could'nt figure out how to use them. Sidefloats inside framed

Dear list, Is there a way to get sidefloats working inside a frame? I'm currently designing a conference poster and I'm manually placing blocks using \setlayerframed where inside those blocks I'd like to have sidefloats. MWE is below. mathring circle above a letter

Hi all, The \mathring command puts a small circle above a letter, but in some fonts (namely Lucida OT) that circle is too small. So thanks to a hint by Hans and Wolfgang some years ago I use the following definition which works fine when used alone. But in maths, one needs sometimes to use it with the command \overline (or \overbar) and the result is not nice. Can someone tell me please whether it is possible to modify the \mathring command so that th ecircle is a little bit larger, or the one I define below as \interior in order to have a correct result (more clearly said: I would like the small circle to be put above the bar which is itself above the A in $\interior{\overline{A}}$). variable fonts

In https://mailman.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2017/088343.html is some code to use variable fonts. I don't have the fonts but tried it (in a current context mkiv) with "bahnschrift" instead which as far as I could find out should be a variable font too, but can't see any effect. Math \not

In plain TeX you can get a slash through $\equiv$ with $\not\equiv$. When I do the same in ConTeXt, the slash next to the $\equiv$. Is there a way to get a not-equivalent sign in ConTeXt? doifsomething vs iffirstargument in TABLE?

Hi all, If I use iffirstargument, the optional (first argument) is always seen as false. If I use doifsomething, it works, but the “else” part is never executed when it should. Loading OTF fonts?

Hit me with all the technical concepts. I’m competent with fontspec on XeTeX. Step 1: Copy NotoSerifCJKsc-Regular.otf to ~/context/tex/texmf-local/fonts Step 2: Run `mtxrun --script font --convert NotoSerifCJKsc-Regular.otf' Step 3: Run `mtxrun —script fonts --reload’ Step 4: Run `context test.tex’ The error: fonts > defining > unknown font 'NotoSerifCJKsc-Regular', loading aborted Regards Jon
