ConTeXt project structure?

It is probably my lack of brain cells, but I do not understand chapter 2 of the ConTeXt manual at all. Suppose I have a manual-like document and I want to produce different PDF-files out of it: 1. The book 2. The book in another layout 3. The book in screen format with navigation 4. A simple presentation with bullet points, one or more pages per chapter As I understand it I will need 4 environments: .../foo/bookenv.tex .../foo/book2env.tex .../foo/bookscreenenv.tex .../foo/presentation.tex and I can put each chapter in a component file, i.e. chapter1.tex, chapter2.tex etc. .../foo/chapter1.tex .../foo/chapter2.tex But here my understanding stops. - Should I create a project file for each of the 4 modes above? And put these in different subdirectories as in: .../foo/book/book.tex .../foo/book2/book2.tex etc.? Or do I use multiple environments in one project and I can get 4 PDF's as a result? Or are these multiple products (I would guess this, but how then to set it up)? Should my chapter files contain \startcomponent \stopcomponent and does that mean they are independently compilable? I have been reading and re-reading this, but the relation between project, environment, component and product keeps escaping me. Is there a good example somewhere?

strange itemize

naming and distribution of typescripts

Hi, Walter Schmidt has made the font DayRoman from Apostrophic Labs available to TeX. Currently the support package doesn't contain any ConTeXt support, i.e. typescripts. I've made for me a typescript for these fonts and now Walter is interested in including ConTeXt support in his package. His package is distributed as zip-file that can be directly unpacked in a texmf-tree. Thus, where should the typescript-file be located? In my private texmf-tree i use TEXMF/tex/context/user/typescripts/ and the file names start with "cts-" (i.e. cts-dayroman.tex). Is there some standard how to name typescripts and locate them in a texmf-tree, so that distribution of typescripts is possible in a controled way? BTW, i would prefer that \usetypescriptfile[dayroman] first tries to load dayroman.cts and if it is not available it tries dayroman.tex. Then we can use the extension "cts" for ConTeXt TypeScripts in the future. Best, Jens

\digits

Hello, while browsing the source, I came across the very nice \digits macro. But I have some comments: In my opinion some characters don't look right \starttext \digits 123.222,= % short, OK \digits 123.222,== % should be em dash (?) \digits +123.222,22 % OK \digits -123.222,33 % too small \stoptext The + and - should be the same size. MetaPost error

Hello I'm very newbie in ConTeXt and I can't generate any document with MetaPost... For example: \startFLOWchart etc. I generate: makemem metafun I did texexec --make --alone metafun and I still have error: initexmf: don't know to dump metafun I can't find default mem file! Where I can set it or something else do to fix this ?... Best regards martin

next dante / gutenberg meeting

Hi, Next week at the dante meeting in Giessen (very nice place, see www.dante.de) there will be a tutorial on context (mainly by Patrick). A few days after that in france (gutenberg meeting) there will also be a tutorial. Coming saturday here is a whole day tutorial in Darmstadt (by me). A change in ConTeXt content-lists?

Good evening. Some time ago I've typeset a rather complex document. Now I wanted to make some changes in its content (the text) but I wasn't able to compile it. The new version of ConTeXt/texutil/texexec ( ConTeXt ver: 2003.8.21, TeXExec 3.3) is probably slightly different. The first problem (\white in the textstyle of \setuphead) I have already fixed, but there is still one more problem. Can some of you help me? My problem is in the content-list. The first processing of the documnet is all right. In the second run I get this error message: (./dso_casove_rady.tuo ! Use of \@@lisectioninteractie doesn't match its definition. \doifvalue ...f \!!stringa {\csname #1\endcsname } \edef \!!stringb {#2}\ifx ... \dosomelijstelement ... #1\c!interactie }\v!tekst {\setlistparameter {#1}\c!... \dodolijstelement ...ment {#1}{#2}{#3}{#4}{#5}{#6} \global \utilitydonetrue l.42 ...zy časových řad}{2::0:1:2:0:0:0:0::11}{11} I also get many warnings like this: references : duplicate reference [][high] on page 1 (dso_casove_rady) Can some of you hint me where the bug (in my macros, not in ConTeXt) can be?
