Does Bill McClain's TOC work?

Working on my first TOC I was looking at Bill McClain's "ConTeXt and pdfTeX Beginners Help Page", and its example on TOCs with different entries. I copied and pasted his example, but what should be like this: > Contents > > Introduction to the Annotated Edition * 5 > > Preface * 12 > > 1 * The Windows of Absolute Night * 15 is in fact: > Contents > > Introduction to the Annotated Edition * 5 > > Preface * 12 > > 3 * The Windows of Absolute Night * 15 <- "3" ! Hi, I would like create some kind of template of first page - I try put a few text blocks in \startstandardmakeup - \stopstandardmakeup area but I spent a few hours but I did nothing. I can only do something like that: \framed[align=middle,width=broad]{some text} \blank[10*big] \framed[align=middle,width=broad]{some text} etc... but I think it is better solutions to put blocks there where I want ;). Could anybody give me any advice? -- Best regards Martin

Table with metapost framing and colors

Dear Mr. Hagen. I apologize that I bother you once more, but I really need your help (deadline for my document is quite soon). :-( I have to follow a rather complex document design. According to it tables must be framed with two different lines: The outer frame must be thick and the inner thin. Moreover, a part of the header (the first row) must be black. I didn't know how to do it, so I used Metapost in a company with the overlay mechanism provided with the ConTeXt. It works well, but: 1) When a cell has black background, it turns its frame from black to white. It's awfull. How can I switch this behavior off? 2) The frame of the first and last row doesn't fit precisely to frames of the rest rows. What's wrong? Are those cell of a different sizes? How can I improve it? Splitting floats

Hello, an interesting feature I would like to see in ConTeXt is the ability to split floats. There are at least two ways in which this might be interesting. One of the is that of having "floating" tables that span multiple pages. The other, more general, is that of having (usually textual) floating contents split in different blocks located in different parts of the text. An example of usage of this could be a text block that "flows" from a floating frame to another (IOW a set of linked floating frames containing a single textflow) Are there any chances of having this feature in ConTeXt? -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

fonts and footnotes (again)

Hi ntg! Some days ago I asked a question which looks to have an obvious answer... Unfortunately the answer isn't obvious for ConTeXt chick:-) I have a problem with font of footnote-numbers. I will try to describe some details because they may be important. I've defined some sans-serif font with my own styles and sizes: \definefontsynonym[tfMyFont][file_name1] \definefontsynonym[bfMyFont][file_name2] % I don't need neither italics nor math \definebodyfont[13pt,12pt,...,9pt][ss] [tfs=tfMyFont sa 0.75, % let's test alternative for tfxx tf=tfMyFont sa 1, .... bfs=bfMyFont sa 0.75, bf=bfMyFont sa 1, ....] \setupbodyfont[13pt,ss] Then I set styles for heads (chapters, sections etc.). The same for headers and footers. These setups work OK. I have a problem with footnotes though. I tried \setupfootnotes[style=\tfs] but it doesn't work (why?). With such settings default ss font -- cmss10 or plss10 (which is not my sweet sansserif) is used for footnote texts and numbers. I also tried \setupfootnotes[bodyfont=10pt]; it works good since ten-point font is defined in \definebodyfont. BUT numbers of footnotes still 'use' DEFAULT sansserif font. So I tried something like \setupfootnotes[...,numbercommand=\MyCommand], where \MyCommand set appropriate fontstyle (\tfs) and raise the number as a ^superscript (quite sophisticated way, isn't it?). This works for numbers of footnotes (below main text) Anyway I have still no idea how to setup correct font and style for footnote numbers appearing in text as a reference for footnote. 1. How to setup font-style and -size for footnotes text and/or footnotes numbers without giving the dimension directly? I mean why I have to setup \setupfootnotes[bodyfont=10pt] and I can't set \setupfootnotes[style=\tfxx]? What is do wrong in it? 2. How to setup font-style and -size for BOTH footnote reference (in text) and footnote numbers? Regards, Pawe/l

Interaction color in content

Good morning. First of all: Many thanks for you last hints -- it solved a lot of my problems. But one more is still present. I want that the ``text'' in the content list to be ``clickable'' (interactive) and of some color. But the color make a problem.
