Dear Contexnicians, I believe that pdfs can make multiple use of pictures (and other objects). I have a fairly large picture which I want to include a number of times, once as the full picture and several other times concentrating on a portion of it. Are there any commands for cropping other than going through metapost? TIA -- Nigel

Hello out there, ... are not what I am going to announce here. But, you can -- if you are brave -- try out the new-on-the-www port of texshow, the ConTeXt command browser. As a bonus, comments can be added to the commands (as in etexshow), but since you are not alone on the www, you can share and enjoy! One day I will add a section for examples. You can then share your favorite examples with all the other ConTeXt users out there. Here is the url: http://members.ping.de:8061/ at http://levana.de/context/texshow-web.html you get forwarded to the whatever is the current location of texshow-web. Visual creators for ConTeXt

Hi, I promised link to creators for ConTeXt ;) http://www.im.ps.pl/context/?en (and http://www.im.ps.pl/context/ for polish users) But - please note - there is early pre-beta version ;) I will work to increase functionality and performance of this. It works in IE6 (tested) and Gecko engine browsers (but there are some errors in display). Tables: left mouse button - select, right menu. Flowcharts: left button - inside object - choice type and changing text, 'o' is a connect point... There will be more helps at the site (in the future) :) For now, just try by clicking ;) If anybody has some advices or wishes please contact - I hope I will implement much more than now. PS. I think I will re-implement whole code (now it is awful ;) ) - if somebody want translate to other languages please contact - it will be possible ;) -- Best greetings, Martin

font distribution for Bitstream Vera

Ahoi! There's now a ConTeXt distribution of Bitstream Vera freeware font at my site: http://www.ramm.ch/fiee/texnique/?menu=0-1-4&lang=en (Source of the font is gnome.org, redistribution is allowed, so I packed it.) Typestting all ConTeXt modules

Hello, I know it sounds a bit weird, but I would like to print out the whole ConTeXt source as one book. So, before I try on my own... Are there any clever commands which could be helpful? columns and alignment at the bottom

Hi, I am trying to typeset a text which should look roughly like that: |-----| |-----| |------| |text | |text | |text | | | |-----| | | |-----| | | |-----| | | |-----| |text | | | |text | |-----| |------| | | | | |-----| |------| | | |text | |text | |-----| |-----| |------| So I have a frames with some text (actually, addresses - Hans, maybe you remember the address booklet I showed you here in Darmstadt) in three columns. So I tried something like: \startcolumns[n=3] \framed{first address...} \vskip 0.5cm plus 1fill \framed{second address...} \vskip 0.5cm plus 1fill \framed{third address...} . . . \stopcolumns Which (obviously because I use TeX code inside ConTeXt - shame on me) fails, the frames are not aligned at the bottom. So I'm looking for a way to typeset them with a distance of at least 0.5cm and align at the bottom - the remaining space should be spread equally... I hope the question is understandable and I hope someone has already done something like this... Expert version: How to make empty pages by default empty?

Hi Hans (probably the only relevant recipient), while Patrick Gundlach could provide me a solution for all chapters in one file there still is no idea how to do it within the project structure. See for example the following: The generated empty pages after the TOC (page 2), and after the last chapter (14 and 15) all have pagenumbers. Quite ugly. How to get rid of them? How to make empty pages by default empty? conteni style

I am a newbie to context. I have a management protocol for transplantation patients which would be great if presented in a format similar to the conteni document. Is the setup for the same available or is this proprietary and not available? Are any other setups of similar functionality available as source files? I intend to use pdfscreen and lyx if this is not possible, however the layout and searchability of the conteni are far superior and would help the doctors on the ward if this can be achieved without me having to spend more than a weekend on this.context is a longterm goal of course but any help now will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged in the protocol. regards vivek

Centering lines of poetry.

Here is a deceptively simple requirement: An author writes poetry where lines are ended by a carriage retrun and stanzas are ended by a blank line. Problem: How to enclose those lines somehow so that all lines are centered yet font changes are allowed. Of course \centerline{} works but this requires tagging each line.
