Extra inserpages options and Out of hash space

Hello, I'm re-creating a PDF from a split-repeated form: each section of the original document has been split into a separated PDF, and I'm trying to recombine it. Anyway, my problem is that as soon as I get past page 600 or so, I get hash size exceeded fatal errors. A braindead solution that allows me to get a few more pages is to patch \calculateexternalfigure to define less csnames, eg by commenting %\setxvalue{\@@efobjectname\c!n}{\number\nofinsertpages}% and changing %\xdef\noffigurepages{\number\getvalue{\@@efobjectname\c!n}}% \xdef\noffigurepages{\number\nofinsertpages}% but still still is not enough (it's a nearly 1000 pages book). bookmark & UTF-8 accented characters

Hi all, I have problem with bookmark when I use Vietnamese UTF-8 input encoding. By using \placebookmarks[chapter,section] I got a bookmark with TeX codes in chapter and section names instead of UTF-8 string like in document. (see the shot http://people.vnoss.org/~vnpenguin/pub/bookmark.png) In LaTeX, IIRC, there is a command \texorpdfstring{st1}{st2} of hyperref package which allows me to use st1 for the content and st2 (without accented characters) for bookmarks. Yes, I see the using a non-accented string for vietnamese has no sense, but this is a "workaround" for us for this moment :) Any solution for this problem ? Thank you in advance, Q. Hans, You mentioned recently support for obtaining duotones. I was grepping through the recent sources, but couldn't find any information about that. Is it already in the published beta? But the \FrameTitle is not. I lossed all accented characters. In Acroread, I found that the framed title uses CMR12 font instead of VnNimbusRomNo9L-Regu font like the body. I haven't seen it mentioned on this list yet. It may have been mentioned out there elsewhere in TeXland: Adobe Reader 7.0 is out. It installs a web plugin for the Mac. nath bug

Hello Giuseppe, I think I found a bug in the nath module. Try the following: \usemodule[nath] \starttext \[ e^{f(x)} \] \stoptext And by the way, fractions in exponents are typeset too big: \usemodule[nath] \starttext \[ e^{\frac{1}{\gamma-1}} \] \stoptext Best regards, David

SVG again

PDF supports SVG graphic starting from version 5 of Acrobat (according adobe) I would like to obtain effects similar to http://www.learnsvg.com/pdf/chapter09_svg.pdf So I hope, it is not very difficult to include this possibilities into Context. Am I right? Michal Morawski

Tabulate problem

(Con)TeX(t), Unicode and accented characters

Here's a short version of my question: How do I enable unicode encoded characters (just normal accented latin characters) to be typeset in (any font) in ConTeXt, like the \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} in LaTeX? And here the long one: ************************************************************************ I don't really understand how accented characters are typeset in (Con)TeX(t). One of the main reasons for switching to LaTeX (maybe 8 years ago) someone mentioned was: "You don't have to worry about accented characters. You can make any accented character and it will work all over the world." (We actually did have lots of problems with MS Word and web browsers at that time.) And it was true. But when I switched to ConTeXt I came against that problem again. In LaTeX I used \v{c}\v{s}\v{z} at first, later \usepackage{csz} ... "c"s"z (which works pretty much the same as "a"o"u in German) and finally (when someone told me about that possibility) \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} ... čšž As I didn't know how to use any other the font, I always used CMR, the default, so I didn't have problems with exotic fonts either. ************************************************************************ But here we come to ConTeXt. For the German "Umlaut", \"{a}\"{o}\"{u} (äöü), this was satisfactory: \useencoding[windows-1250] \mainlanguage[de] For \v{c}\v{s}\v{z} (čšž) this wasn't the case, so a proposed solution from another ConTeXt user was: % output=pdf -translate-file=cp1250cs \setupbodyfont [csr,ams,rm] What I don't really understand: why did the Chech TUG have to design *their own font*, csr, (or made changes to cmr) if accented characters worked perfectly already in plain TeX? The second problem: This works under Windows when typesetting in code page 1250. How can I use accented characters if text is typeset in Unicode (or latin2) in Linux? The third problem: How do I typeset '\v{c}' in some other font? I do understand that it may not function in just any font since someone has to tell the computer how the accented characters are built, but as long as \v{c} works, there's no reason for \useencoding[utf8] and then continuing with unicode encoded characters not to produce the desired result.
