Hello again! Today I'm trying a lot of new (to me) things... This time, a macro with optional arguments and \if...argument : \def\SkillField{\dodoubleempty\doSkillField} \def\doSkillField[#1][#2]#3{\bTR\bTD #3 \iffirstargument\hfill (#1)\fi % don't print when no optional argument \eTD \bTD \ifsecondargument % if second optional arg is provided \definefield[#2][line][Skill][#1]\field[#2] \else % if no second optional arg \definefield[#3][line][Skill][#3]\field[#3] \fi \eTD\eTR} e.g. \SkillField[+8][Aergern]{Ärgern} % works \SkillField[+1]{Labern} % does nothing instead of "else" \SkillField{Testen} % does "\hfill (#1)", but should do nothing Apparently, the \if...argument ... \else don't work as they should. Hi there! I try to typeset a roleplaying character sheet as PDF form; it contains a table of skills, each line is a \SkillField after this def: \def\SkillField#1#2{\bTR\bTD #1\hfill (#2) \eTD \bTD \definefield[#1][line][SkillSetup][#2]\field[#3]\eTD\eTR} e.g. \SkillField{Climbing}{+8} becomes a table line like: Climbing (+8) [+8] Now there are a lot of skills that contain e.g. umlauts, so that \definefield[#1] fails. I don't like to introduce a third parameter. Is there a possibility to strip all invalid chars from a string, so that \SkillField{Erzählen}{0} can define a field named "Erzaehlen" or "Erzhlen" or "Erzahlen"? (Sorry, I can't program in TeX.) Hi, Testing the file provided by Taco before installing the new alpha-Context did not result in a reference from \cite[don], only a () is typeset. After installing the new alpha-Context, the problem with the \section command is indeed solved. Still there is only a () from the citation. What is going wrong? Kind regards Willi

alpha release

Hi, I uploaded an alpha release. Well, not that alpha, since i run it here as default, but this one has the bib files packahed. Some code moved to the system modules and some bits and pieces were cleaned up. Taco and I will discuss a further clean up / internationalization later. I hope that this fisex some of the reported problems. Hi, Does anybody know how I can get a dot after the figure number in a caption, without 'promoting' that dot to figure references in the body text as well? I remember I've had this problem before, but that was a long time ago and I don't remember the solution any more. Greetings, Taco

Bib module produces no output

Hello, bib module of 30-8-2004 produces no bibliography list on \placepublications with ConTeXt 2004.12.17 (last stable) and/or latest beta. The workaround is to use \setuplist[pubs][criterium=all] somewhere in the setup. Can you please make including the whole bibliography make the default? framed starts a paragraph...

hi all. What's happening here? \starttext hello world.\par \framed{hello} world.\par hello \framed{world}.\par \stoptext It looks like an extra \par is inserted after the first \framed. Is this new? algorithms style : need \starttyping with TeX and math feature

Bonjour à tous, I'm trying to white some algorithms in natural language (versus pseudo-computing langage) I need to keep some "typing" for write space (i.e. indentation of text) while being able to white TeX commands (with \xxx{yyy}) and math (like $y_u(t)$) In fact I'd like some LaTeX algorithms style like feature. I could do some recursive \startitemize...\stopitemize... but it is two much verbose, so I thought looking at the ConTeXt "typing" system Also, perhaps my request is simply an option of \startlines which keep not only the lines break, but also the first spaces of each line (in a verbatim font fors these space) Thank you for any help! -- Maurice Diamantini
