Hi, I've a question. Is it possible to fill a table or a document in ConTeXt with content from a XML file? Where do I find documentation about this? I didn't find something in the PDF's Thx Jessica

Number of rows in tables

Hi everyone, In the process of learning the table mechanism I followed the discussions on the list, but could not figure out whether it is possible to create a table with a given number of rows. For instance, is it possible to add something to Mojca's solution for cells with backgrounds (see below) to have a table with (for example) 15 rows? Disappearing characters

Hello all. I have a file test-fonts.tex which just combines Palatino and Helvetica into one typescript: ---- \loadmapfile[context-base] \usetypescriptfile[type-buy] \starttypescript [TESTfonts] \definetypeface [TESTCombo] [rm] [serif] [palatino] [default] [encoding=texnansi] \definetypeface [TESTCombo] [ss] [sans] [helvetica] [default] [encoding=texnansi] \stoptypescript ---- And I have a simple test file which tries that typescript out: ---- \usetypescriptfile[test-fonts.tex] \usetypescript[TESTfonts][texnansi] \setupbodyfont[TESTCombo,14pt] \starttext Palatino? Normal \Delta, Maths \mathematics\Delta, Greek \greekDelta\par Palatino? Normal \delta, Maths \mathematics\delta, Greek \greekdelta\par {\ss Helvetica? Normal \Delta, Maths \mathematics\Delta, Greek \greekDelta\par Helvetica? Normal \delta, Maths \mathematics\delta, Greek \greekdelta\par} \stoptext ---- With the line '\setupbodyfont[TESTCombo,14pt]' everything works well, but when I change it to '\setupbodyfont[TESTCombo,10pt]' the Delta signs disappear! (The lowercase deltas remain - weird?) I am really confused (and it took ages to understand what was happening, since the disappearing Greek originally occurred in a 700 page book...). When comparing the log files for each version, the broken one (10pt) has the line: ---- Warning: pdfetex.exe (file c:\tex\texmf/fonts/type1/urw/palatino/uplr8a.pfb): glyph `uni20AC' undefined ---- whereas the working one (14pt) doesn't, and instead has: ---- {c:\tex\texmf-local/fonts/enc/dvips/lm/cmrm.enc}<c:\tex\texmf/fonts/type1/public/lm/lmr10.pfb> ---- So, it seems to be something to do with a missing switch to the font which contains the \Delta character, but why should it only happen at smaller font sizes? Experimentation suggests that 12pt and below has this problem, and over 12pt the problem disappears. Thanks to anyone who can explain and help me to fix it. Duncan

Newbie question: background color in single table row

All - I have a simple table which looks like this: \placetable[here]{none} \starttable[|c w(3.0cm)|c|c w(2.75cm)|c w(7.0cm)|] \HL \VL \bf Name \VL \bf Location \VL \bf Date \VL \bf Signature \VL \AR \HL \VL \VL \VL \VL \VL \AR \HL \stoptable I would like to add a background color to the first row only. I tried \CL[colorname], \BR[colorname] and neither gets quite what I want. Is there a simple way to set the background color for only the first row? I have only just started using ConTeXT, never used TeX or LaTeX before, so I'm still trying to understand everything I read in the manuals, and searching the list archive. pdfetex warnings and lmr

Hi all, I just upgraded to the latest ConTeXT (ConTeXt ver: 2005.09.14 fmt: 2005.9.19 int: english mes: english) and now I cannot typeset anything... For instance the following minimal example results in an empty PDF: \starttext This is a test. \stoptext The log file says among other things: Warning: pdfetex (file lm-ec.enc): cannot open encoding file for reading </usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/type1/public/lm/lmr12.pfb Warning: pdfetex (file /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/type1/public/lm /lmr12.pfb): character 46 is mapped to .notdef and a few other warnings about characters 49 and so on. Since I have been away from the follow up of the changes occured for a while, can anyone give a clue? Thanks in advance: OK
