I have to say I'm unable to make any sense of it at the moment. I think I understand the logic of what is needed but understanding the current implementation is way beyond my current capacity. Does anyone else have a need to process Simplified Chinese encoded in UTF-8? If not, perhaps I should just explore getting my sources changed into GBK. If there was someone else with the same need we could perhaps share the burden... Hi, thanks for your answer :-) These tipps will help a lot and answers a piece of my questions. With metafun I produced a graphic an the text comes in with \framed like its described in metafun and this works fine. The exact positioning is a problem but it works, not total like my suggestions, with a table. I've read mwidget and I have a question. Is it possible to mak a goto to a exact site in my document? I've read of next, previous and other documents but can I say something like "goto page 5 of the document" ? thx Jessica

bib module: interaction (wish)

Hello all, and Taco in particular, I'm a great fan of interaction, and I was wondering about what kind of interaction the BibTeX module could support. I'm thinking of two of them in particular. One of them is the obvious link to list of references on click. However, I'm also a great fan of balloons, so I was thinking of something like a popup-on-hover showing the full reference, thus sparing the need to go back-and-forth through the document. (Can these things be optimized so that the popup is only stored once in the PDF?) A potential problem would be with compressed citations, but I guess that in this case making only the displayed numbers active is the right solution. -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Dear Taco, I need a last-name only option for a few but not all authors, such that no comma comes after the last name; rather it goes straight to the year e.g., it appears in the actual bibliography as ============================================== McDermott (1976). The Theology of Shaykh Mufid ============================================== Right now I get (with spurious comma) ============================================== McDermott, (1976). The Theology of Shaykh Mufid ============================================== Sometime authors give me bib's where the first name of the author is unknown... This simple file sends pdfetex into endless loop: \starttext \showmathcharacters \stoptext Here is texexec --version: TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005 texexec : TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005 texutil : TeXUtil 9.0.0 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1992-2004 tex : pdfeTeX, 3.141592-1.30.3-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5) context : ver: 2005.08.31 cont-en : ver: 2005.08.31 fmt: 2005.10.8 mes: english \showmathcharacters used to work for some older version of ConTeXt, but now it didn't.
