m-graph: metapost errors in demo

Salvete, is it just me or does texexec --pdf -mode=demo m-graph really not work? I get very many metapost errors, starting with a bunch of ! Redundant equation. <to be read again> ; l.140 Gmargin.low=-.07; (which are rather harmless) and continuing with >> 0 >> vacuous ! volgende maps

Hoi, Onderweg van/naar bachotek hebben taco en ik wat zitten bomen over de volgende maps. Er zijn her en der nogal wat font artikelen (oa over latin modern) die we nooit in de maps hebben gezien, dus leek het ons aardig in de volgende maps wat van die artikelen op te nemen. We kwamen al snel op pakweg 100 bladzijden. Als dat wat jullie betreft ok is, dan zullen taco en ik de komende tijd wat auteurs benaderen. Hello everyone, Great thanks to Mojca Miklavec, that was definitely a font problem. Using antykwa-torunska did solve it. >> \usetypescript[modern-base][t2a] >> \setupbodyfont[modern] > >Latin modern doesn't have cyrillic letters. I took the code from wiki. It was for cm-super font package, included in the distribution. Is there a problem with this package in mswincontext.zip?.. Best regards, Vladimir Smirnov

Cyrillic glyphs display problem with standalone ConTeXt distribution under win32

Hello everyone, I use standalone ConTeXt distribution for win32, mswincontext.zip downloaded a week ago, and never got proper cyrillic characters. I get latin "character codes" instead: for instance, \cyrillicDJE produces "DJE" in the output pdf, but not "�". At the same time \Tsedilla (cp1250) makes the proper glyph. I found that live ConTeXt at contextgarden.org behaves in the similar way. Neither of recommendations/samples at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Russian worked for me. The standalone context distribution does contain all necessary fonts and regimes, so there must be some deeper problem. Could anyone, please, tell me what is going on? Here is my test.tex. I tried it in utf, cp1251, cp866, all producing the similar result. Float caption feature request

Hello, In LaTeX (don't remember whether this is generic or specific to one of the packages I used to use), the 'caption' command for floats came along this way: \caption[optional short version]{Caption} If one uses the 'optional short version' bit, the Table of Figures/Tables present the short version rather than the whole caption (which in my case is long paragraphs and makes the TOF/TOT unpractical). I would very much like to have that functionality in context. Thanks for any hints on how to achieve this. Poking around in the source did not lead this newbie to a starting point ... Joh

Description nesting

Hello, Is there a way to nest some descriptions, where the nested descriptions respect the enclosing indentation? Funnily the wiki speaks about the subject (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Description) but doesn't give any solution (btw, the given solution to have several paragraphs in a description looks obsolete since \start \stop works pretty well). Here is an example that I would like to see working: \definedescription[descr][ headstyle=bold,style=normal,align=left,location=hanging, width=broad,margin=1cm] \setupwhitespace[medium] \starttext \startdescr{Para} This is a shorter item label, and some text that talks about it. The text is wrapped into a paragraph, with successive lines indented. This is another paragraph under the "Para" item. \startdescr{SubPara1} This is a shorter item label, and some text that talks about it. ConTeXt + MetaUML

Hi all, Some times ago, I have discovered MetaUML via the MetaPost ML. As a consequence, I have tried to use it with ConTeXt... Isolated expression. <to be read again> ; <scantokens> ...nsidefigure := false ; clearboxes; <to be read again> ; endfig->scantokens.extra_endfig; shipit;endgroup l.125 endfig ; Apparently, MetaUML is based on boxes.mp (temp-mpgraph.mp (/usr/share/texmf-tetex/metapost/metauml/metauml.mp HERE ====> (/usr/share/texmf-tetex/metapost/base/boxes.mp) (/usr/share/texmf-tetex/metapost/metauml/util_infrastructure.mp (/usr/share/texmf-tetex/metapost/metauml/util_log.mp)) .... .... It have already tried to use boxes.mp in ConTeXt in the past, but switched for metaobj because: 1. metaobj is more suitable to my needs 2. boxes.mp causes troubles when used with ConTeXT I'll keep searching a solution but if one of yours has already dealt with this kind of problems and succeeded in using boxes or, best, MetaUML... More on split TABLES: Numbering Scheme and other things

Hello, I'm using the split-TABLE patch below (send - how can it be different - by Hans) along with the also appended table definition (to read out XML code). I have two problems here: 1) as posted earlier, the page just before a split TABLE overflows on the bottom (see http://www.idyll.org:8081/JohSite/context/page-overflow-preceeding-a-split-…) 2) I also wonder whether the table numbering scheme this is producing may be changeable: instead of '1.1a', '1.2b' (currently for two parts of a split TABLE) the more intuitive '1.1a', '1.1b' Can anybody give me a helping hand for fixing this? Hi, I'd like to use the stand-alone-version of ConTeXt with Win2k, but it doesn't work: F:\isoimage\usr\local\context\demo>texexec --make --all f:/isoimage/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-local/scripts/context/ruby/newtexexec.rb:8:in `require': No such file to load -- base/switch (LoadError) from f:/isoimage/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-local/scripts/context/ruby/newtexexec.rb:8 but f:/isoimage/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-local/scripts/context/ruby/base/switch exists and contains the required file(s). What's wrong with my installation or batch-file? TIA, Stefan .
