texexec from parent directory

Hi, I have the following project structure base/ | +--project.tex | +--product.tex | +--environment.tex + subdir/ | +---component.tex If I in subdir and texexec component it compiles fine. If I am in base and texexec subdir/component it works fine. However, if I am in the parent directory of base and texexec base/subdir/component it does not work as the environment file is not found. It seems that the search for files is taking place relative to the directory from where texexec is invoked, rather than relative to the directory where the file resides. Is there some way I can make the component file compile from the parent directory of base? Thanks, Aditya

two questions - rlxtools and an error in presentation mode

Hi, all, 1. I get a pdf output via "*.tex -(XeTeX+ConTeXt)-> *.xdv -(xdv2pdf)- > *.pdf" because some korean fonts didn't get well with xdvipdfmx. There is another problem to call a figure using "externalfigure". There is a black space instead of real figure. In the log file, I can see following lines. -------------------- TeXUtil | running texmfstart rlxtools --identify ./sier-carpet.jpg identify: no decode delegate for this image format `./sier-carpet.jpg'. RlxTools | unable to identify ./sier-carpet.jpg TeXExec | TeX run 2 ----------------------- I checked it in the terminal using "identify filename", but it always said that "no decode delegate for this image format `filename". If I use the commnad "XeTeXpicfile", it is OK. Is there an easy way to resolve this? 2. I got the following error during the ConTeXt process(not with XeTeX). What is wrong in my file? Line numbering

Dear all, Forgive me if I sound naive. I searched the archives, but could not find the solution for my following problem: I need to have line numbers for the text formatted in two columns. The numbers for left column shall appear in the left side and that for right column shall appear in the right side of the page. location=inmargin option to the \setuplinenumbering doesn't help much. Please take a look at the following image: http://www.river-valley.com/cvr/one.png which will give you an idea of my requirement. Photobook

Hello folks, I have been playing around with Context for over a month and I think it is a fantastic tool. Comparing it with LaTex it is a more general tool and gives you far more options. Hello, Thank you again for very timely and great answers to my question yesterday. I am finding that implementing things in Context is usually easier than I expect. This is very nice. Our company decided to switch to context from latex recently. It seems to have been a very good decision. Thanks for all the work you do to make context so fun to use. We have one last thing to get translated from latex to context. David Kastrup wrote a bit of latex for us (included below) that magically writes out the absolute xy position of each paragraph and image to a log file for us. We pass some extra information to the commands that get put in the log file for us, but in the end we mainly need a way to get the absolute xy coordinates of the bounding boxes for each paragraph, each section title, each image and each image caption. Is there a way to get this information with context already? Or do I need to get a new module written? footnote number in header

Hello I have footnotes in titles and titles appears in all right page headers. The problem is that in the header appears a superscript number, adding 1 each time it appears. How can I avoid it? vertical kerning for TwoThird needed

Hi, comparable to the pre-defined \threequarter I want to write a \TwoThird. The following looks quite good (with my respective font settings) ... \def\TwoThird{{\tx\high{\txx 2}}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.1em{\txx 3}} ... but still the "2" is a bit to high. How can I adjust "vertikal kerning"? Thanks, Steffen

OK, I've updated to the latest context via Gerben's i-installer on my mac osx 10.4.6. I have no idea what texmfstart is nor do I understand its purpose. Hi, I am organising my figures in a "figurelibrary" (see www.pragma- ade.com/general/manuals/xfigures-s.pdf) It is great! But: shouldn't the thumbnails in the section "Figure collection" link to the whole page views (first section of the pdf file)? I believe that the first time I tried it that was the case, but I am not sure. In any case, now they don't. Cheers, Jörg
