Prescript in ConTeXt

Hi Hans and Taco, I want a command for writing prescript, something that works like ${}^1 f_t$ but with correct spacing. As far as I know, such a command does not exist in ConTeXt. A bit of a search shows that the "best" definition in LaTeX is by Michael J. Side caption in floats

Hello, I want to a normal caption next to a float: ########## ########## ########## Fig. 1: Some object desc. ########## in this caption. where the text should be bottom aligned unless the text is much longer: ########## Fig. 2: Some textual ########## description to a rather small figure. Using \startfiguretext[], I get something similar, but without "Fig 1". And \placefigure[....] does not seem to offer this option either. Tobias

llap, rlap, clap equivalent for math

Inspired by Alexander Perlis' macros in http://www.tug.org/TUGboat/Articles/tb22-4/tb72perlS.pdf can we have the math equivalent of llap etc. in ConTeXt. Ideally, \llap etc. should be modified so that they work in math mode also (just like \smash and \phantom). If not, we can have the following simple definitions: \def\mathclap{\mathpalette\domathclap} \def\domathclap#1#2{\clap{$\m@th#1#2$}} \def\mathllap{\mathpalette\domathllap} \def\domathllap#1#2{\llap{$\m@th#1#2$}} \def\mathrlap{\mathpalette\domathrlap} \def\domathrlap#1#2{\rlap{$\m@th#1#2$}} Usage: \startformula A = \sum_{\mathclap{1 \le i \le N}} a_i \stopformula Aditya

Hi Hans and ConTeXters, please can you add two Named AcrobatReader functions ShowThumbs ShowBookmarks useful especially in Presentation (full screen) mode due to missing key shortcuts in last Reader versions. Usage: \goto{thumbs}[ShowThumbs] and \goto{bookmarks}[ShowBookmarks]. Please, can someone add dutch, german, italian, romanian, and french translations? A ConTeXt style for emacs-muse

Hi all, If some of you know and like Emacs-Muse (http://www.mwolson.org/projects/EmacsMuse.html) you might be interested to try the style I wrote to produce context documents within Muse; you will find it at: http://jm.bornier.free.fr/muse.html I have tested this file and it seems to work in most situations, but it is a first version and necessarily imperfect; feel free to report on errors. cheers, -- Jean

Pagesize < papersize: Writing jobname/date outside page area

Hello, I have pagesize < papersize and use crop marks. What I actually miss is the possibility to put text (Project name, date/time) outside the page. Currently, ConTeXt only prints there the colour bars, the page numbers and the crop marks. Example: http://glossary.ippaper.com/default.asp?req=glossary/term/1972&catitemid= As a work around I currently misuse the footer, but I'm afraid that I will forget to remove it for the final version. (Just for curiosity and nothing I need: Does ConTeXt also support register marks?) Tobias

\pdfannot and \tooltip won't work with Chinese characters

Hi everybody, Since \inmargin won't break through pages and I've tried everything but still can't make it, I bended. Now I want to comment some words with \pdfannot. It seems that this command don't support Chinese very well, the annotations appeared like "lookaheaduchar 73" and something. Then I turned to \tooltip, and this time it showed nothing. Output from texexec

Under TeXLive 2007 version of context when I run even a trivial program I get reams of output referring to the same typefiles over and over again. Then I get a little message (in the log file) about fonts being reset. Then I get messages about the fonts I actually use. The purpose of compiler messages is to communicate something. 13 iterations of the exact same messages does not increase my store of knowledge any more than 1 display. My questions: what purpose does the repetitious listing of all these typefiles serve and can I suppress it some way?
