Strange behaviour with tikz

Hello again I don't understand a strange thing. Patterns in tikz become black in some case. Here is a minimal example : *************************************** \usemodule[tikz] \usetikzlibrary[patterns] \starttext blabla \chapter {blabla} \starttikzpicture \draw [pattern=north west lines](0,0) rectangle +(1,2); \stoptikzpicture \stoptext ************************************* Without any text before the chapter or without the chapter command I see the patterns. With these commands I just see a black rectangle. Can I get my patterns back ?

project too large??

Hi, I have a quite large project: over 700 pages, 2500 footnotes, some tables, figures etc. Everything works well when typeset in two parts. \setuphead question

How do you obtain the same result as \setuphead[chapter][header=option(,footer=option)] ( option = none empty high nomarking ) in a document where [header/footer][left/rightedge]="not empty" on chapter pages i.e. only [header/footer][text]=option for chapter pages and others ( left/right edge ) are not modified ? -- Best, Alan * using ConTeXt ver: 2008.08.18 14:00 MKIV fmt: 2008.8.22 int: english/english (on Windows XP)

Although I must admit, that this 'handling' might be an advantage of LaTeX. I never wanted to learn TeX, but maybe now I have to (at least to some extent). Protrude quotation marks

defining (new) macros with optional arguments

Hi, Does something like \newcommand exist in ConTeXt? My questions aims especially at the optional argument with a predefined value. So, how do I realize \newcommand{\test}[2][A]{foo} with ConTeXt. In the fine manual I found an index entry \definecommand, but in the 'rest' of the manual it was never mentioned (print and screen version alike)! Regards, Juergen

Texlive 2008 on Windows (Vista)

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Running_Mark_IV; says I have to reinstall texlive 2008 if it has been installed in a path containing spaces such; C:\Program Files (x86)\texlive\2008 Which also happens to be the default install location. Is there a workaround? And I think adding a section to http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Running_Mark_IV will be really helpful.
