Texlive 2009 and stable context

Hi, Sometimes in June I was no longer able to compile context beta, running into a problem that persists with the new stable (7-30-2010). Hans suggested in response to a similar problem by someone else, to install minimals. But this seems to me wasteful because I use parts of latex. Running (with luatex version beta-0.62.0-2010080309 (rev 3794)) mtxrun --generate gives this: MTXrun | resolvers: variable 'SELFAUTOLOC' set to '/usr/bin' MTXrun | resolvers: variable 'SELFAUTODIR' set to '/usr' MTXrun | resolvers: variable 'SELFAUTOPARENT' set to '.' Pagebreak without background

I'm working on a document with page backgrounds. I got them working now, using ... ... \defineoverlay[left page] [\useMPgraphic{left page}] \defineoverlay[right page][\useMPgraphic{right page}] \setupbackgrounds[leftpage] [background=left page] \setupbackgrounds[rightpage][background=right page] But now I have them on every page. I don't want those to appear on certain pages. E.g. I want to start chapters on the right page and want the left page to be completely empty. For my chapters I currently have \definepagebreak[chapterpagebreak][yes,header,right] \setuphead[chapter][page=chapterpagebreak] Which still gives me the background on the blank left page before each new chapter. So I tried blank in definepagebreak, but it doesn't seem to give me the desired result, since it only removes the background on the page to follow (that is the right page on which my chapter starts). footnotes again

Hi all, I'm sorry I have to ask again about footnotes setup. I misunderstood the style that our publisher wants. Maybe it's easiest when I do a bit of ASCII art (will only work with a fixed-width font): | texttexttexttexttex | | textexttexttexttext | | | | 9 footnote 9, more | | than one line. | | 10 footnote 10. | So: the footnote numbers in the footnotes are typeset in a box. This box is just big enough to hold a three-digit footnote number. Its left edge is flush with the text area. Within this box, the note number is aligned flushright. The footnote text itself is one block; this block is indented a fixed amount: the publisher wants all indentations (normal paragraphs, blockquotes, footnotes) to be identical; let's say 16pt. I played with the parameters of \setupnotedefinition and \setupfootnotes that Wolfgang taught me yesterday, but I just can't find the right combination. Will wikify! All best Thomas

Troubles with backgrounds in bTABLE

Hi all, I need to use the background mechanism to draw a thicker line in a bTABLE...eTABLE setup together with MKII. It looks like that there is a bug somewhere in this. I am unable to draw the line at the top of the cell. However it is possible to draw a diagonal through the cel. I think that the problem is related to the background mechanism in general, because the problem is also present when using the background mechanism in framed. The behavior is identical in MKII en MKIV. I updated this morning to the latest version of Context, the bug is there as it was in a version ca 1 month old. Please refer to the attached test file. 4th ConTeXt Meeting, update

Hello to everybody! There are few weeks left till the 4th ConTeXt Meeting on September 13-18, 2010 in Brejlov, Czech Republic. minimals update issues

no indent after blank

MTXrun | error, no format found with name: cont-en, aborting

I'm a moderate context user (finished a 100 page math text recently) and haven't had too many problems except for downloading an occasional beta which has an issue or two. My book compiles just fine on my office computer, but I installed context and get compilation errors on my home laptop (a windows 7 box). I've been able to work through all other problems with context up to this point, sometimes waiting a day or two until someone uploaded a fix in the new beta, but for some reason I've gotten stuck on this one. I installed context via: - Download of context-setup-mswin.zip - unzip to c:\context - run of first-setup.bat (with no args, and same happens with --context=current) - After running, I go to the tex/ directory and run the setuptex.bat - Go back to c:\context and run a test file with just \starttext TEST \stoptext using "context test.tex" - I get the error "MTXrun | error, no format found with name: cont-en, aborting" I also tried using TeXworks, using compilation using texmfstart.exe and texexec. That compiled the original test.tex, but refuses to compile any .tex code with metapost. What, in most cases, does the "MTXrun | error, no format found with name: cont-en, aborting" error indicate? I know that odds are I missed something stupid, but just can't figure it out this time. Thank you for your help and your time. Paul
