bib problems

Hi all, the last days have brought a couple of bug reports on bibliographies in ConTeXt. I will try and create a number of examples so Hans can test and debug. In order to facilitate the creation of minimal examples for all users, we have a couple of suggestions: 1. There is now a dedicated page for bibliography support on the wiki; unsurprisingly, it's at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Bibliographies. For the time being, this page is just a skeleton; you are all invited to contribute. 2. The page contains a link to a sample bib file. This file will be part of the main distribution (and hence of the minimals) under context/tex/texmf-context/bibtex/bib/sample.bib. I will send this file to Hans. At the same time, it is meant as a bibliography for ConTeXt related publications. So if you build minimal examples, please try with this file first. If the error you are reporting is triggered by a certain publication type which is not yet represented in the sample file, please modify the file on your disk, but *remember to add these modifications to the file on the wiki* (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/sample_bib) and drop me a line! If you want to add further ConTeXt related publications, feel free to do so! I will send Hans and Mojca updated versions of this file which I'll pick up on the wiki. 3. As you know, priority in development is given to mkiv. The bib module for mkii was written by Taco, and as far as I understood him, it is quite unlikely that he will have the time to do extensive work on it. Later today, I will try and coordinate the bug reports I can still find in an example. Please add your reports as well. All best Thomas

Help! There is an error with \registerparoptions. Of course, I have not (yet) come up with a minimal example as this depends on some condition that not obvious. Looking into the code here (in anch- pos.mkiv?) does not get me any further. ! Chapter's frame too small

Hello, just an observation - let's have the following code: --- \setupcombinedlist[content][alternative=e] \starttext \placecontent \chapter{ChaB} Chabbb \section{SecA} Secaaa \subsection{SubsecA} Subsecaaa \stoptext --- The frame around chapter "ChaA" is too small, it crosses the text. Bug or feature in list and error with setuptructure?

Hi list, I am using the following code with a recent beta (last week): \setuplist[subsection][numberstopper=, right=), style=\slanted] and the ')' is not slanted. However, it is the following: \setuplist[subsection][numberstopper=), style=\slanted] So, bug or feature? Also, \setupstructure[state=start] causes the compilation to stop after lpdf-pdx.xml. Minimal example : % \setupstructure[state=start]% doesn't work (lpdf-pdx.xml) \starttext \startitemize[n] \item one \item two \item three \item four \item five \stopitemize \stoptext In a my thesis, I got some other errors, please see attached file. I am sorry I could not track down the bug in my setup, but with the minimal example, something is already going wrong. Regards. -- Cédric

Hello, I built a single .pdf from all testing sources or demos which were included in the Hans' latest cont-tst.7z. You may find this inspiring or you can find here some snippets (similary as in wiki) how things may be done in ConTeXt. The file (5.5 MB, 1500 pages approx.) contains the TOC, listing of the source files (on the left page, if short enough) and the result beginning from the right page. The content is divided in the same manner as Hans did - the tree structure is fully kept. End of page & orphan/widow control

Hello, could anyone give me an advice how to manage text flow (in terms of orphan/widow control with controlling of flushbottom raggedbottom effects?). I am desperate in fact ConTeXt is a great tool but I can't reach effective way how to control these things. (And be sure I have spent many hours above manual and wiki… but maybe I am not so technically capable.) In case I have longer text with many quotations, one-line paragraphs and direct speech (typically any novel), I am able to reach a stage without orphans and widows but context do what it want with an end of every problematic page – it simply shrinks it –1 line. I need to be able to create simply nice results in a basic-typography point of view of good novel typesetting (without orphans, widows, on grid and every page the same height). Sure I know about \setuptolerance setting but it has (imho) very poor effect for my purposes. (Sure, maybe I am not using it properly.) SubmitForm interaction

Hi lists, I'm working with some pdf interactions and using the line "\button{Absenden}[SubmitForm{mailto::daniel.grycman@rub.de,Kommentar}]" to create the submit button. But there is no new mail created, after initiating the submit process. Missed I something? Daniel

context-beta install trouble

I have this question. I now get the messages below when installing context beta. Especially alarming sounds to me "unknown script 'base.lua' or 'mtx-base.lua" Is there something wrong with my setup, perhaps because of some change I missed? I did reorganize my disk layout somewhat, but I am fairly sure I put all directories and links in order. The output of the installation runis followed by the scripts I use. Can there be thrown some light on this question? Thanks in advance.
