Hi, I updated lmtx ... there are a few fixes for issues reported on the list. In the perspective of updating math the - otherwise unchanged - mkiv variant has also been updated a little. No new commands, just some (already old) experimental font related features gone and replaced by a combined one inspired by what we do in lmtx. In our opinion on the average it should not come out worse. Spacing in \unit

Hi list, I made a small example with all of the issues I am trying to fix for the \units command. The first formula below uses the \unit command, but produces strange spacing. The second formula produces the desired spacing, without using the \unit command. \showmakeup[mathglue] %\mathspacingmode=1 \starttext \startformula \unit{1.23e5 kg m^2/s^2} + \unit{8.64e5 W s} = \unit{9.87e5 newton m} \stopformula \startformula 1.23\mathord\times10^5\,{\rm kg\mathord\cdot m^2/s^2} + 8.64\mathord\times10^5\,{\rm W\mathord{\cdot}s} = 9.87\mathord\times10^5\,{\rm N\mathord{\cdot}m} \stopformula \stoptext I’m trying to fix four issues: - No space between the number and the following units. Should be a thin space. - No space between the units and the following symbol (+ and = above). Should be appropriate “bin" or “rel" space. - Too much space around the \cdot in the units. Should be treated like an “ord" when used to separate units. - Too much space around the \times in the scientific notation. Should be treated like an "ord" when used in scientific notation. (I'm not sure there is consensus on this.) Some of these seemed like things I could fix myself, so I dug into phys-dim.mkxl to see what I could do. The good news is that I didn’t break anything. The bad news is that nothing I did seemed to have any effect – including deleting phys-dim.mkxl entirely! I double checked that I was working on the same installation used for typesetting. Is the code used for \unit now somewhere else? These issues only occur in math mode, and \unit handles comma separators correctly, unlike \digit. I’d like to get some sort of temporary patch for at least some of these issues, even if I need to write it myself. I use \unit everywhere in physics problems sets for students and in keys that I share other teachers. Any guidance is appreciated! Gavin P.S. Setting the size of \small

Hi, playing around with \definebodyfontenvironment with latest LMTX, I found this possibly buggy behavior: \definebodyfontenvironment[12pt][small=6pt] % x=6pt works here \setupbodyfont[12pt] \starttext normal {\tx tx} {\small small} \stoptext With \definebodyfontenvironment[12pt][x=6pt] I can resize \tx fine, but for \small it doesn't work. -- Leah Neukirchen <leah(a)vuxu.org> https://leahneukirchen.org/

\showstruts displaces text in LMTX

Dear list, compiling the following sample with current latest (2022.10.15 10:37): \showframe \showstruts \setuppapersize[A6] \setupnotation[footnote] [alternative=serried] \starttext a\footnote{\input zapf} \stoptext I get the text in the footnote is displaced. It only happens with LMTX (not with MkIV) and not with previous latest. Could anyone confirm the issue? Many thanks for your help, Pablo

Floating Figure in framed-environment

Dear ConTeXt Users I am relatively new to context and I am suffering with a problem with the framed environment. I want to use a framed textbox for Definitions in my script. I also want to use floating figures. But this does not work and I haven’t found out why. Maybe I totally use it the wrong way. TeXGyre Heros on Firefox

Dear all, there were some discussions on pdf viewers on the list and I know that things are not always fine. I now have a problems with the Firefox pdf viewer and TeX Gyre Heros. The font looks uneven in FF, no problems elsewhere. When I scroll into the pdf to set the display to 150% or more the font shows up just fine. So it seems to be a display problems with firefox. I tried several pdf versions no change. My configuration: \definefontfamily[mainfont][serif][texgyreheros] \definefontfamily[mainfont][sans] [textgyreheros] \definefontfamily[mainfont][mono] [texgyrecursor][features=none] \definefontfamily[mainfont][math] [texgyrepagellamath] \definefallbackfamily [mainfont] [rm] [Latin Modern Math] [scale=0.925, range=0x22C0] \definefontfeature[smallcaps][script=latn, protrusion=quality, expansion=quality, smcp=yes, onum=yes, pnum=yes] \setupalign[hz,hanging] \setupitaliccorrection[global, always] Is there anything I can do? And the is another issue: To my big surprise ArialBold MT is included into the file. I am using the current lmtx. Lopsided circles

Perceptrons

Okay, they aren't _real_ perceptrons, but fancy parameterized trees connected on a hex grid, coded with MetaFun and Lua. Hans, your simplifications on the atantwo function also didn't work for all cases. There was a single edge case that didn't determine the correct angle. Don't know why. Cheers!
