Typefaces ... how does this work?

I want to adjust my document to have Lucida as main typeface, but with brief passages (a few words at most) in a typeface that has the IPA glyphs like Gentium. I've skimmed the manual and the ConTeXt garden Wiki but I do not yet understand which commands I should use where and with which options to achieve this -- preferably in a concise way. Could someone please explain and point out what most current documentation I should read and in which order to fully understand how to work with typography in ConTexT? (Obviously I am not a typographer or typesetter, I just write documents.) I am in a hurry now to complete my document so I would appreciate concrete hints to help with my current need. Still, I am interested to learn a lot about this functionality in the long term.

The context docment below shows two anomalies. One is the occurrane of the "unknown font latinmodernmath-regular, loading aborted" and two is that the compilation process halts on the first 'D' in the word Dutch, and no item bullet is typeset. how to print a simple booklet

Hi, this is probably a question with very simple solution, but I cannot figure it out or find a solution in wiki or manual. I just want to print simple booklet and after and after picking papers from printer do a single fold. With the following code the TITLE PAGE is correctly placed to the right of first sheet but all pages have backspace and page number on the right edge. bug in compressed linenotes (and two ideas about them)

Hi Hans, I'm afraid I found another bug in linenotes (http://www.ousia.tk/compressed-linenotes.pdf and http://www.ousia.tk/compressed-linenotes.tex) When a compressed linenote is located at the beginning of the line, the inbetween distance from \setupnote is suppressed, but the distance from \setupnotation isn't. This happens either linenotes are in paragraph form or not. I have also three suggestions on the linenote spacing. I'd be highly pleased that Thomas and Idris could comment on them, since they are the experts on the topic. The first one is more a question, because I'm not sure whether this is already possible. Could I set a variable length in inbetween from \setupnote and distance from \setupnotation? This would help better spacing in linenotes. Sorry for asking, but I tried in the past and I wasn't able to do it. The other two suggestions are about enabling different spacing options for compressed linenotes than the standard spacing for linenotes. The sample shows that without separator, compressed linenotes have more blank space than standard linenotes, since compressed linenotes without separator have two added spaces without interruption. How about a compresseddistance option that assumes there is no separator and sets a single space? In the sample, compressed linenotes are preceeded by a 2em space, where standard linenotes are preceeded by a 1.5em space. Having more space for compressed linenotes than for standard ones may be misleading in some cases. And even using a separator, being able to specify different distances would be also extremely helpful, because it is not always the case where separators need more space before than after (as line reference numbers need). How about implementing two options such as compressedbefore and compressedafter that would achieve this? BTW, I tried to enclose the sample within a TEXpage, but it didn't contain the linenotes. I encountered this error, when changing over to a Japanese language document. "fonts > defining > unable to define latinmodernmath-regular.otf as [simplefonts:1-8pt-mm-mb--1] --------------------------- fonts > math: unset for global bodyfont simplefonts:1 at 12pt I think this is a unicode math font. Can I fix this by downloading the proper font? If so please tell me where I can find it. partial current setting: -------------- \usemodule[simplefonts] \mainlanguage[ja] \language[ja] \setscript[nihongo] % unknown if need or not %\definefont [kanjikana] [name:ipaexmincho] % for just a few characters try this \setmainfont[ipaexm] %changing this to mincho didn't change still used ipaexm I read somewhere that "latinmodernmath-regular.otf" was deleted from the system from TeXLive for some reason. Is loading a unicode font gonig to solve this? Thanks

\convertnumber with macro parameter

Hi, just another newbie question \setuphead[section] [command=\MyCommand] \define[2]\MyCommand% {\convertnumber{I}{#1} --- #2} \convertnumber does not work on command parameter. What am I doing wrong? I know that I can use /conversion/ key in setuphead, but I need slightly more complicated command. thanks Jan
