issue with \setuptyping (and XML sources)

Dear list, the issue I’m experiencing comes from XML sources typeset with ConTeXt. I have tried, but I found no way to get a minimal sample. For code fragments in the XML source, I use: \bgroup\xmlprettyprinttext{#1}{none}\egroup To which I apply: \setuptyping [style={\tt\wider}, margin=yes, align={right, broad}, blank={3*halfline}, before={\blank[3*halfline]}, after={\blank[3*halfline]}] Could anyone be so kind to explain me why the first three options from \setuptyping work (style, margin and alignment), and the other three don’t work at all? Sorry, I think it has to be a stupid mistake of mine (but I don’t know which one it might be). Many thanks for your help, Pablo

conversion from realpage to pagenumber

Hello list, how do I convert the realpage number to a page number? Suppose you have a document with a frontmatter of 20 pages in roman numerals, followed by the main text starting from page 1 in arabic numerals. So the twelfth page is 'XII', while the twenty-second is '2'. How do I get 'XII' from 12 and '2' from 22? Massi

font error in float placement?

(LMTX, latest beta with self-compiled binary on OSX-intel.) With my book, I run into an Lua error while placing a sidefloat. If I comment \externalfigure or replace the image with a different one, the error disappears. I can’t reproduce it in a minimal example, so I guess it depends on the current surroundings. Since it points to some font handling and the figure is a PDF containing fonts, I guess it might depend on the new handling of fonts in PDFs, but it doesn’t change regardless of \setupexternalfigures[compact=preset:merge] or other settings. Why the way key-value argument is called affected the document's output?

Hi, I was cleaning and formatting my context file and then when I compiled it, the output I got introduced extra vertical spacings at the section headings that weren't there in the previous compilations. I had to spend enormous amount of time trying to fix it so to emulate my previous outputs. Turns out the problem was how I called one of the key-value argument in the document. I really wanna know the reason why it did influenced the output? Provided below is the minimal source code (and it is producing different outputs, meaning the vertical spacings are not same, on my device running the version released in the September and also tested with the latest release.) Asking help for better way to make tickets.

Dear all, I’d like to make a ticket on A4 as follows: 1. Use all of A4(no margin, no header, no footer,…) 2. Arange 12 tickets in the form of 3 x 4 on one page, 3. Two rows are same, 4. Numbers in the center of the ticket which is increasing. I use the following code to make it. but I think that there is a better and simpler way to do it which I don’t know. The code for registers does that translation -- from an arbitrary realpage of your document to the corresponding user page number, with the right formatting -- but I could not find the code that does that in strc-reg.* source files. Hi folks, in March, there’ll be Linux Days in Chemnitz/Germany (Chemnitzer Linuxtage, https://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2024/en/) an OSS fair. DANTE usually has a booth there, and this time I’ll help. I’d like to have a poster that shows off ConTeXt/MetaFun features. Do you have suggestions or (even better) would you like to create it? It would be nice to have for further events (last year I presented ConTeXt at FrOSCon and CCCamp and lacked a poster). In the following week and nearby, there’s Leipzig book fair (including Manga-Comic-Con), https://www.leipziger-buchmesse.de/ It’s always a great experience! How can I wrap an externalfigure into a box that can be placed within running text? Should I wrap the externalfigure into a start/stop buffer, then place it? Some hints? .Floris
