Ligatures missing with Times New Roman

Hi I'm have to use Times New Roman for a text, and I'm finding that ligatures don't seem to work properly. \starttext \definedfont[name:timesnewromanpsmt*default at 12 pt] ff fl \definedfont[name:linlibertineo*default at 12 pt] ff fl \switchtobodyfont[pagella] ff fl \stoptext The ff and fl ligatures work out of the box with Linux Libertine O, and with TeX Gyre Pagella, but not with Times New Roman. I can use the ligatures in MS Word so the font has them, but I don't see why they shouldn't work with ConTeXt (LMTX). Best Denis

Math: Nested Cases?

Hello, Is it possible to nest cases in math, like so: \starttext \startformula x= \startcases[align={right,left},distance=3pt] \NC a \NC = \startcases[align={right,left},distance=3pt] \NC 1 \NC \text{case a1} \NR \NC 2 \NC \text{case a2} \NR \stopcases \NR \NC b \NC = \startcases[align={right,left},distance=3pt] \NC 3 \NC \text{case b3}\NR \NC 4 \NC \text{case b4}\NR \stopcases \NR \stopcases \stopformula \stoptext I get an error about a missing $ when I try a nested start/stop-cases. Add items to list with arbitrary page number

Hi, I need to add an item to a list with an arbitrary page number. (The reason is that I have a multivolume book, and I want to add information about the other books to the TOC) I know about this: \writetolist[section]{}{It's a test} But how can you add an arbitrary page number ? Best, Denis

placenamedformula in placelist (MKII vs MKIV/LMTX)

Hi, I want to use placenamedformula to list a formula in the placelist with both the formula name and the formula number (alongside the pagenumber). The example in the wiki (https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Math/Display) and the test suite (cont-tst/doc/context/tests/mkiv/math/formulas-003.tex) shows what I would like to have. Using MKII I get the desired output (1 formulaname ... and 3b formulaname ...) but with MKIV and LMTX I only get the reference from the placeformula (as 1 and correctly not listed in the placelist) and none of the placenamedformula numbers. The placeformula number is then carried onto the second placenamedformula as 1 (resulting in formulaname ... and 1 formulaname ...). I have attached the test suite file output with both MKII and MKIV. Is there a way to get the MKII output with MKIV/LMTX somehow? Adam

add more blank space when using \starteffect[hidden]

Hi, Sometimes, I need to hide the solution of a problem. So I use \doifmode{} and \starteffect[hidden] as in the following sample file. Since I want to set more blank space if it is hidden, I add \blank[5cm] when it is in the \enablemode[hideSolution]. It works well except the figures and bars are not hidden. Only texts, even in the mp part, are hidden. It is OK for me. However, it would be much better to set the height of blank space depends on the height of hidden texts. Is there a way to set the variable height using “overlay” stuff instead of \blank[5cm]? Thank for reading. Chemical reaction formulas

Dear list, According to the information on contextgarden (section chemistry) chemical reactions should be entered as follows: \usemodule[chemic] \startformula \chemical{CaCO_3(s),+,HCl(g),->,CaCl(HCO_3)(s)} \stopformula That produces a formula with the comma's in it, so that's not good. If I enter it as follows \usemodule[chemic] \startformula \chemical{CaCO_3(s) + HCl(g) \rightarrow CaCl(HCO_3)(s)} \stopformula Then somehow after the \rightarrow the math/chemical environment is lost and the remainder gets typeset as text. The same is true if I use any math command such as \beta or \cdot. The closest I get to the desired result is with the following: \usemodule[chemic] \startformula \chemical{CaCO_3(s) + HCl(g) --> CaCl(HCO_3)(s)} \stopformula But that is a bit of a compromise. \binom has fraction line

Dear list, lmtx draws a fraction line in \binom{n}{k}, ConTeXt ver: 2021.02.23 17:47 LMTX fmt: 2021.2.26 int: english/english The same happens with {n \choose k}. The other version I tested draws it correctly (without the bar): ConTeXt ver: 2019.03.21 21:39 MKII fmt: 2019.11.14 int: english/english Is this a bug, or has the user interface changed? getnonfreefonts with LMTX

Hi! The LMTX distribution comes with few binaries, texlua being none of them. The getnonfreefonts <https://www.tug.org/fonts/getnonfreefonts/> script seems simple enough, but it relies on a global “kpse” which it uses to get kpse variables. Therefore luametatex --luaonly can’t execute it. Is there a way to get those fonts with the standalone LMTX distribution? Best, Phil
