Old version of luatex for alpine linux (musl)

Hi all, I want to use the last beta version of standalone ConTeXt distribution in alpine linux (musl). CMYK Color profile

Hello everyone, I'm about creating a DIN Lang Folder brochure with ConTEXt. I got everything set up the way I'd like it to. Now that I'm done with the work, I've been told the output pdf should have a CMYK Color profile embedded for the on demand printing service to be able to deal with the file... I am unsure what steps I have to take to make my output pdf compliant with CMYK. I don't even know how I could verify it does indeed have CMYK. Evince doesn't seem to show that info... So if anybdy of you could give me some hints, that's be wonderful. Cheers De Benny

Broken kerning if hz is turned on?

Hi, attached is the result of running latest lmtx on \definefontfeature[default][default][protrusion=quality,expansion=quality] \setupalign[hz] \setupbodyfont[lucidaot] \starttext Gauss öppnade med denna studie ett helt nytt fält inom matematiken, det som handlar om \emph{elliptiska funktioner} och \emph{modulära former}. \stoptext What happens with the space between the characters in "studie", that becomes "s tudie"? The spacing between some other characters are also off (ma tematiken), but not as much as in studie. /Mikael

chapter-number prefixes on figure, etc, numbers, even in unnumbered section appearing in TOC

Dear List, The following, it seems, is a recurring question, which I had hoped to solve by digging in the test suite <https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Test_suite> -- but no luck. The problem is to have figures, list items, problems, etc. numbered with a chapter prefix (e.g. Figure 7.18) even in unnumbered sections that appear in the TOC. 1. Using \subject as the section command, the figure number is correctly prefixed, but the section itself doesn't appear in the TOC. 2. Using \section, the figure number is also correctly prefixed, and the section appears in the TOC, but the section gets numbered (e.g. Section 2.7). In one of the earlier threads, which are "Prefix for figure number lost in unnumbered subsection" <https://ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2015/082094.html>, "Unnumbered subject in TOC, numbered exercises in text" <https://ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2015/083710.html>, and "incrementnumber vs. prefixsegments" <https://ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2012/069765.html>, Hans suggested looking in the test suite for fine control of the prefix segments. I have done that, and the best MNWE that I can come up with is a modification of doc/context/tests/mkiv/sections/figures-001.tex in the test suite (see code below), but it also fails: * When incrementnumber=list (as in the code), the TOC lists that section, but the figure 5 doesn't get a chapter-number prefix. * When incrementnumber=no (recreating \subject), the TOC is not correct, but figure 5 gets its prefix. * And wWhen incrementnumber-yes (recreating \section), the TOC lists that section, but the section gets a number. Typesetting Markdown -- Part 2

Hi all, The second part describes how to create a PDF file from a Markdown file using pandoc and ConTeXt: https://dave.autonoma.ca/blog/2019/05/29/typesetting-markdown-part-2/ If anyone has suggestions to improve the ConTeXt-related portions, please pass them along. I've considered using ConTeXt's Markdown module, but I'm not sure how much of Pandoc's enhanced Markdown it supports. Thank you!

Wiki update

Hi all, Not sure how many of you remember this, but at the Kalenberg meeting in 2016 there was this talk: =========== Setups Wolfgang Schuster (and Hans Hagen) The user interface is described in xml files but the actual descriptions lagged behind development. Wolfgang spent a considerable amount of time to describe all commands in detail and we updated the descriptive format in the process. The rendering was partly redone, as was the help system and scripts that use this information. =========== Since then, nothing much had been done with those updated xml files, which is a big shame considering the enormous amount of work that went into the process. But recently we have been discussing the wiki and (especially) the sorry state of the reference portion of that. At some point, I realised that we could rather easily combine the new xml interface files with a small wiki extension, such that the wiki has easy access to the latest and greatest command list. =========== From now on, when you are editing the wiki (especially the /Command/CMD pages), you can use <syntax>CMD</syntax> to output the formal table of arguments for that CMD (omit the backslash) For example, <syntax>section</syntax> outputs a table with the formal calling convention(s) for the \section command. Multiple tables actually, as it also outputs the alternative calls with different arguments, and it outputs the definition of the internal \*section* command, of which \section is an instance. (The parents of instances are printed in a slanted font). There are 2035 normal commands and 373 instances in the database, essentially covering all the style- and document-level commands in ConTeXt. I’ve decided not to add the low-level system commands because (apart from perhaps a few special cases) these do not belong in general user documentation. =========== I have not auto-replaced any of the handcrafted command page syntax tables in the existing wiki pages, because quite often the current syntax table has manual additions explaining various options. In the formal version these are obviously not present, and I did not want to remove any of that extra information. Anyway, the nice thing about this new wiki plugin is that if you want to create a page for a specific command that is not in existence right now, it is a simple matter of going to the expected url, and creating a page with just a Syntax heading and a <syntax> tag. Extend figure to margin, or extend figure from margin to text

Hi everyone, I am writing a book, in which all figures are placed in the margin. But some graphics are too big to fit in the margin. I was wondering whether there's an elegant way to use some room of the text body? Lua error using module pgfplots and shader=interp

Please note that to reproduce the error with the context version of texlive 2019 the first lines must be uncommented due to a bug in the newer version of tikz. I suspect that the problem is with context because same file works with context from texlive 2018 (which has the same pgfplots version) and an equivalent latex version works with lualatex. Could you suggest any workaround? If not I'll file a bug with pgfplots. Thank you in advance, LD

Itemization formatting

Hi all, I must be getting old :( It used to be that I could get ConTeXt to do what I wanted, but that is increasingly getting harder. Current problem: I would like to have itemizations that behave like in this dummy ascii formatting: * Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec dapibus turpis et nulla venenatis tincidunt. Curabitur sit amet vehicula nisi, sit amet and so far it has been impossible for me to set up \setupitemize to do what I want. In descriptive text, what I want is: 1. some global indentation to the left and/or right. That is what the margin= key does 2. the symbol (or number) typeset in a specific width. That is the width= key 3. some distance between the number box and the following text. That is the distance= key 4. on line 2 and forward to the end of the item, I want a *different* indentation from the first item line. In this particular case, I want no extra indentation except for ‘margin’, but in other cases I may like either more or less indentation than on line 1 of the first para of the item. The desired effect is simple achieve with primitive operations, but I would like the input to look nice (not to mention that I do not want to loose options for cross-referencing etc). \setupitemize[option=intext] is nearly right for this case (with indentation equal to the left margin), so I assumed I would be able to tweak that. But the problem there is that while it does 2-4, it ignores the extra indentation required for nested itemizations (it even ignores explicit margin= settings for the nested level). After fighting with this for hours, I am nearly ready to give up. Anybody have any idea how to get itemizations to do what I want? MWE attached. bookmark expansion again

Hi Hans, I have the following sample: \def\eap{expansion} \def\MyContent{Expanded \eap} %~ \enabledirectives[references.bookmarks.preroll] \setupinteraction[state=start, title={\MyContent}] \placebookmarks[section] \starttext \section{\MyContent} \startsection[title=\MyContent, bookmark=\MyContent] \stopsection \stoptext I see that now PDF contents are prerolled by default (which I think it is a great idea [I hope it isn’t a bug]). But bookmarks alone (when aren’t prerolled. From strc-sec.mkiv, I see that prerolling is only applied to \currentstructuretitle when \currentstructurebookmark is empty. Would it be possible that \currentstructurebookmark could have prerolling when it is different from \currentstructuretitle? Sorry for insisting, but I need this to avoid having "main:345{/h2}" as bookmark for some chapters. Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk
