Exporting highlights

Dear gang, Ok, I'm rolling up my sleeves and taking another stab at exporting to xhtml (maybe even epub). Major project, so taking this one small step at a time. The immediate aim is to get correct output in a browser (I use Opera, and Chrome as a control). Test files attached. In a browser we have Challenge 1: Neither export-highlight-tag.xhtml nor export-highlight-div.xhtml renders the highlights. What do we need to do? Challenge 2: export-highlight-div.xhtml breaks the line before a highlight as well as after a highlight. What is missing here? Aim: To turn my current project into an epub, or at least something that can be viewed in a browser (xhtml). Caveat: I don't know much web development (css, xhtml, div, etc) but am willing to work with what I have... but only IF there is a finish line. If there is no finish line (i.e., things are too broken at the moment to get the mission accomplished via what ConTeXt and CSS provide) kindly let me know so I can stop now! Styling captions inside \startcombination ... \stopcombination

currentreferencerealpage wrong (how to detect even/odd pages?)

Different output with \blank[force, ...] in MkII and MkIV

Hi, the force keyword for the \blank commands create an unwanted space in MkIV when you use it at the begin of page compared with MkII. Attached are the results from MkII and MkIV which have been produced with the following example. Problem in using vlingrid() and hlingrid() macros (Metafun)

Tables, Row Span, and Colors

The following code produces my table, but I could not get the text "Region" to span rows 3-7. So, I would like 1. the word "Region" to be inside the table and not "hacked" in the way that I have it. 2. to make the (spanned) cell containing "Years" have a gray background. 3. to make each of the "column heading" cells (i.e., the ones containing "<1", "1-2", ..., "15+", and "Total" to have a gray background. 4. to have the (spanned) cell containing "Region" (from #1) have a gray background. 5. to have the "row heading" cells (i.e., the ones containing "East", Midwest", "South", "West", and "Total") have a gray background. I would appreciate any help in attaining this wish list. How to Centre Multi-line Verbatim Text

\placefootnotes at the end of each chapter, conditionally

I have a simple problem: I would like to place \startsubject[title=Footnotes] \placefootnotes \stopsubject at the end of each chapter, thus effectively before each \stopchapter BUT only if there are footnotes to be placed, i.e. I do not want to have empty Footnotes subjects appearing in my document. Supplementary question, just for fun: how to specify title=Footnote if there is only one? Thanks Alan

Problem with MkIV and TikZ picture remembering

In the minimal working example below inside of a text two words should be printed inside of rounded TikZ rectangles and should be connected by an TikZ arrow pointing from the first word to the other. TikZ offers the remember picture/overlay option for that. The MWE works in MkII (command “texexec”) which I am not using, but not in the latest MkIV (command “context”). The problem might be that according to the PGF/TikZ manual “You need to use a driver that supports picture remembering and you need to run TEX twice” (16.13.1 Referencing a Node in a Different Picture). So my questions are: 1.) Does LuaTeX support TikZ picture remembering? 2.) If so, how can I get ConTeXt MkIV to “run TeX twice”? 3.) If all of the above worked, would that work also if the inline TikZ pictures to be remembered are on another file referenced via \input? I have seen a solution similar to what I want to achieve in the METAFUN manual but I don’t have a clue how to get that METAPOST alternative working.
