Hi all, I have a document with parts and chapters. I'd like to number the chapters continuously through the whole document. Figured out this has to be done with \definestructureresetset instead of the resetnumber=no option in \setuphead. But I don't want to include the number of the part in chapters and sections. How do I do that? Small caps from otf in luatex.

I have asked everywhere else to no avail. In (plain) luatex how do I specify the small cap version of an otf font? I use context for non-fiction but pdftex and now luatex for fiction. -- John Culleton

Hyphen as separator for formulas

Hello everyone, I am using mkiv, and my qestion is: Is it possible to have a hyphen instead of a dot as a separator for formula references? I can achieve it by using \definestructureseparatorset[default][][-] but this changes all separators in my document (including section headers etc.). The command isn't referenced in the wiki, so I am at a loss if this is even possible, and how to achieve it. And \setupformulas[separator={-}] seems to have no effect at all. Thanks in advance!

\typesetbuffer at wiki

issue with \stoplinenote

I know that this is something related to references. But in the meantime: wouldn’t it be possible that \stoplinenote internally includes a \prewordbreak command? include two pages from typesetbuffer

Minor date formatting issue

Hello, all-- I am experimenting with the \currentdate command. I am finding that \currentdate [weekday,{,~},month,day+,{,~},year] which should work according to the Wiki, produces: Thursday, Augustday+, 2013 This command: \currentdate [weekday,{,~},month,day,{,~},year] works as expected. I also tried \date [][weekday,{,~},month,day+,{,~},year] but that produced the same result as above. I have a recent stable release of the standalone ConTeXt package from the Garden. Is there a new way to format a date with an ordinal indicator (-st, -nd, -rd, -th), or is that just not working at the moment? Please advise. -- Matt Gushee

ConTeXt, XeTeX, special effects in Indic font for Kannada

On my Mac (Mountain Lion) I would like to use ConTeXt with a complex OpenType font named Kedage for the Indian language Kannada, and I thought that I could do this using XeTeX (because LuaTeX seems unable to handle Indic fonts at present). This freely available font (found on Linux systems, for instance) comes in four files: Kedage-n.TTF, Kedage-b.TTF, Kedage-i.TTF, Kedage-t.TTF (normal, bold, italic and bolditalic, respectively). I have been partly successful with the simple command \definefontsynonym[kan][name:Kedage] and then using \definedfont[kan] where I want to have the font in the text. Also \font\kannada="Kedage" (and \kannada later in the text) seems to work well without any further indications of language, script etc. However, I would also like to use the bold, italic and bolditalic forms of the font. Simply using \bold and \em does not work. Here I see two possibilities: (1) use the XeTeX parameters FakeSlant and FakeBold, which I have done in LaTeX. But I do not know how this is done in ConTeXt. (2) use the other font files (Kedage-b.TTF etc.), and again I do not know how to do this. Can anybody help me out, either way? (I have attached a sample.) Robert

simplefonts doesn’t select the font

Dear list, I have the following sample: \starttext \startbuffer[testbuffer] \setuppapersize[A7] \usemodule[simplefonts][size=10.5pt] \setmainfont[TeX Gyre Pagella] \starttext This isn’t \TeX\ Gyre Pagella. \stoptext \stopbuffer \typesetbuffer[testbuffer] \stoptext Only with decimal font sizes, simplefonts (and probably the standard font mechanism [which I don’t know how to use it]) isn’t able to select the font in the buffer. unwanted extra interline space in typing environment

Dear list, I have a document (http://ediciones-criticas.tk/pdf/criticas-context.pdf) which is shows a weird issue: some typing lines have an extra interline space added. It can be found on the first code samples on pages 11 and 12 from the above-mentioned document (sorry, but I have no other way to recreate the issue). My configuration is the following: \setuptyping[margin=yes,lines=yes,blank=line,space=on] How can avoid the unwanted extra interline space in the typing environment?
