Feature-Request: Sort bibliography entries in alphabetical order by the entries' “short” value

Hi, the publication list can be configured with `\setuppublications` to be sorted by cite order (`sorttype=cite`) or the order of the publication entries (`sorttype=bbl`). With the following setup the "short names" of the publication entries are used for cite references: \setuppublications[ criterium=text, sorttype=cite, % <– "short"? refcommand=short, numbering=short, ... ] The short names are set using the `s` attribute: \startpublication[ s={RFC2616}, ... ] ... \stoppublication A cite with this setup would look like "[RFC2616]". In a long bibliography list it is useful if the entries are sorted in alphabetical order by these short names to allow a faster lookup of publications. Currently I'm using the "filter" module and a Tcl script to sort the publication entries ( http://tex.stackexchange.com/q/126939/7074 ), but it might be useful if something like a `sorttype=short` option would be added. problem with Persian feature

Dear All, Hello, I am completely new to ConTeXt and after searching and exploring the ConTeXt Garden wiki pages and other resources thoroughly, I decided to write my first document in Persian which reads: \enableregime [utf-8] \definefontfeature [persian] [mode=node,language=dflt,script=arab, init=yes,medi=yes,fina=yes,isol=yes,liga=yes,dlig=yes,rlig=yes,clig=yes, mark=yes,mkmk=yes,kern=yes,curs=yes] \usemodule[simplefonts] \setmainfont[arial][feature=persian] \mainlanguage[pe] \setupbodyfont[arial,12pt] \starttext \pagedir TRT\bodydir TRT\pardir TRT\textdir TRT این یک آزمایش است. \pagedir TLT\bodydir TLT\pardir TLT\textdir TLT This is a test. \stoptext As there are some UTF-8 characters in the document I have attached the document to this message too. The problem is that on my system the Persian part of the output is a set of Persian Isolated characters, but on http://live.contextgarden.net the Persian part does not appear at all. How to prevent moving figure on the next page?

Hi list, I need help to undestand this effect: If setuphead[chapter][page=no] and after figure start a new chapter, than figure is moved to the page 2, although on page 1 space is enough. kerning with buggy libertine

Hi Hans, this is a bug report thanks to Khaled: http://tex.stackexchange.com/a/126650/14066 In short: the font loader applies the kerning of libertine version 5.3.0 even though this appears to be broken in the font. Context translation of the example: \definefontfeature [kerning] [mode=node,smcp=yes,kern=yes] \definefont [libertineserifsmallcaps] [file:LinLibertine_R.otf*kerning] \definefont [libertinesanssmallcaps] [file:LinBiolinum_R.otf*kerning] \def\demotext{Vacillate Vaccine Vapour Vanish Va...} \starttext {\libertineserifsmallcaps \demotext}\par {\libertinesanssmallcaps \demotext}\par \stoptext (Doesn’t occur in base mode.) Metapost labels

Hi all, with LuaTeX, Version beta-0.77.0-2013073017 (rev 4639) and ConTeXt ver: 2013.08.06 15:50 MKIV beta fmt: 2013.8.7 int: english/english Context seems not to be able to typeset Labels anymore. Yesterday, before an Update, all worked as expected. Minimal not working example: \starttext \startMPpage draw fullcircle scaled 5cm withcolor red; label(textext("\CONTEXT"),origin); \stopMPpage \stoptext Or am I missing something happened in the last four weeks? \completepublications in component creates wrong hyperlinks

Hi, if a \completepublications call is used in a component, the hyperlink, which is supposed to link to the bibliography, instead links to a (probably non-existing) pdf file named after the component. \startbuffer [sample] @BOOK{Eijkhout1991, title = {\TeX\ by Topic. \externalfigure doesn't find mps file in subdirectory

\externalfigure won't find a metapost eps file in a subdirectory, if the mps has the numerical (.1) extension. Here's a minimal example (test.tex): \setupexternalfigures[directory={fig}] \starttext \externalfigure[simple.1] \stoptext where fig/simple.1 is from a simple .mp file that fills a 1-cm box (see below). The resulting test.pdf shows the gray box name : simple.1 file : simple.1 state: unknown Only this combination of circumstances triggers the problem. Giving the full path ("\externalfigure[fig/simple.1]") works fine, as does renaming the file to simple.mps (within the fig/ directory), as does using instead simple-1.pdf (made with mptopdf). Thus, I have several workarounds, but it might be useful to figure out what is not working. I've noticed this problem on and off for a while now, but only now made a minimal example. (Is the path-searching code trying to append extensions and directory prefixes at the same time, and thus not finding the file?) This is with MkIV 2013.05.28 from vanilla TL2013. Hiding \part completely except for in the ToC

Hi everyone, I'm having a little problem and I'm hoping you can help. For my table of contents, I need to group my sections, but I don't want any heads for this in the text. Now, I've been using \part for this but unfortunately I cannot get rid of the empty space it leaves. The only way I've been able to get rid of the empty space is by setting: \setuphead[part][placehead=empty] But then it's not in the ToC either. Alternatively, when setting placehead to any other value, it still leaves an empty line in the text. Is it possible to have both, ie \part's in the ToC without any space taken by it in the text? Passing macro parameters to lua

Hello, good people-- I've encountered what appears to be a bug in either the TeX->Lua interface or the documentation thereof (I have the latest stable ConTeXt standalone from contextgarden.net) I'm trying to create a macro that will insert different text depending on whether one of the arguments is empty or not. My initial test implementation (following the wiki section entitled "Passing arguments and buffers: ConTeXt commands that hook into Lua") looked like this: \startluacode userdata = userdata or {} function userdata.empty_or_not(str) if str == "" or str == nil then context("{\\sc Empty}") else context(str) end end \stopluacode \def\emptyOrNot#1{% \ctxlua{userdata.empty_or_not(#1)}% } \starttext \emptyOrNot{Amazing Text!} \emptyOrNot{} \stoptext This did not work. I determined that even when I passed a non-empty string, the Lua interpreter detected it as nil. It turns out the fix was simple--I had to quote the string, as follows. \def\emptyOrNot#1{% \ctxlua{userdata.empty_or_not("#1")}% } It took me a while to figure that out, though, since the wiki example does not show quotes. -- Matt Gushee
